Thanku MSE -Faulty Technika tv/dvd partial refund

BIG THANKYOU to MSE - after reading advice on this forum re a faulty Technika tv/dvd from Tesco I have been offered a refund.

I purchased a Technika tv/dvd comi in Nov 2010 for £329.00, two wks ago 3mth out of warranty, it went completly blank, nothing worked. At first I was going to put it down to experience an buy another tv but thought I'd look on Google to see if other people had had similar problems, I found several people had on MSE, they explained they had contacted Tesco customer service, filled in an out of warranty form and been given a partial refund.

So this is what I did, Tesco were great I have to say!! I emailed them, I did have my receipt and order number,Tesco rang me same evening, said they would email me the out of warranty form, I completed it an returned it, after a couple of emails to, confirm one or two things, within a week I have received an email stating they have sent me a partial refund of £220.00!!!!
:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j so I think this is a fantastic result and all because of this site, so BIG BIG THANKYOU to MSE:T:T:T:T:T Now I need to find the best deals on a nes Tv/dvd? any suggestions welcome:beer:

Good result! Tesco tend to be relatively generous on Technika warranties, because they know that the equipment is rubbish and frequently fails soon after warranty.
Now you've learned your lesson, buy a decent brand in future, get down to Richer Sounds and look at LG or Samsung for a budget brand-and don't buy a TV/DVD combo.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
