    Oh deary me!
  • Oh dear, I purchased a kitchen for £15k in November last year which they promised me for Christmas and it is still unfinished. Bad/shoddy workmanship. Parts still being delivered. Worker x 1 (not the 4 promised - and I paid nearly £5k for the installation alone) I kicked off site. Second lot x 2 taken off site even though not finished. So called Surveyors wander around with grins on their faces stating 'it'll be okay when it's finished'. No mention of the disruption to me - living without a kitchen for over a month - cancelling my Xmas/New Year plans as well as January visitors - moved in just 2 months ago and beginning to hate the place already !! No urgency and they are asking me what I want? Beyond belief. And they had the nerve to say 'this never happens'. Clearly, they've not been looking at their own bad press. NEVER EVER AGAIN !! And, I am now taking it further as they clearly are not going to bother !
  • Having just settled a complaint with B and Q = they are seriously one of the worse companies ever!
  • PS I would seriously avoid them!
  • They are owned by the Kingfisher Group plc who are based in Paddington, London. I am going to copy them in on all the correspondence. I have spent this w/end constructing a long email which will be sent to the Regional Manager today; it remains to be seen how seriously they take this complaint as they really do think they are doing me a favour when they happily tell me that somebody will be recommencing the fit out in just over a weeks time - whoopee. Another two weeks living with my kitchen contents in the living area - and I am open plan so there is no getting away from it all. Kids doing an adult's job comes to mind.
  • Emailing Kingfisher (Ian Cheshire) makes no difference...trust me. I have dealt with the store manager and up to the head honchos at B and Q.
  • We ordered a couple of kitchen cabinets from B&Q to complete our kitchen prior to selling our house. We ordered and paid for them on 8th May - they promised delivery on June 12th.
I thought 4 weeks was a bit much in terms of delivery, but we went along with it.
On June 12th they didn't arrive, so I called them. They now promise me the 23rd June.
That's over 6 weeks to supply a couple of stock kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately we need the doors to match so we have to wait.
They tell me that the store shouldn't have given that date to me.
Mr Left Hand - I'd like to introduce you to Mr Right Hand.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Whilst not defending B&Q in these instances, the size of this thread, as against the size of the Wren one over on the consumer rights board, suggests there may be a worse place to buy a kitchen!
