i think the most pressing question is the 1.9% one ......

    I can't be bothered.

(this is mainly sarcastic, I am not getting involved in a debate with a troll who still doesn't understand the difference between a UT and a tracker)

yeah, you just ignore the evidence that says active is for gullible people that do what an IFA tells them to do.

i suppose it's a bit darwinian, money going from stupid* people to intelligent people.

IFAs will sell some trackers, but i'd imagine 99% of what they sell is managed, unless you have evidence otherwise?

    Evidence to support your figures?
so are you saying all trackers have trail commission? just like managed funds? or is that another half truth?

What has trail commission got to do with it? Charging has been available on explicit terms for quite a few years now.

but IFAs still work on trail, if they recommend trackers they normally don't get any trail.....

I must interject and point out that using the "ignore" function of the forum makes it look like dunstonh and lokolo have been talking to themselves for some time.

    Carry on...

An IFA can be paid the same whether it is a managed fund, tracker, ETF, shares or cash. The remuneration is agreed with the client and charged irrespective of investment.

I dont have the ignore function on darkpool yet. However, I also feel like i have been talking to myself as well.

    Who said that? :D

It must be said, I'm about to drop out of this thread as I'm losing the will to live. GOK how you guys have stuck it for so long!
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

    Benchmark over 3 years - 76.2

    Tracker Alpha: -1.19 = return of 75.01
Active Fund Alpha: 3.67 = return of 79.87

Would that be how you would interpret those figures?

i think if you have a point to make you should just make it.

    Google translation;
Yes this is how I would interpret those figures but I'd rather not admit to it.

Now HWIC can you please put us all out of our misery, make your point and then we can all put this thread where it belongs.

Rewired - do feel free to thank darkpool for his admission. ;)
