Dog proof indoor dustbin for kitchen.

Hi
Can anyone recomend a dog proof dustbin for indoors please?
We cant have one that fits inside a cupboard as have no suitable kitchen doos.
It has to be stable too as our clever mutt will just knock it over so the contents spill over the floor if he cant get inside it!
We currently have an ordinary freestanding swing lid type, which has to be emptied or put out of reach (hes a greyhound so a tall dog who likes to get up to counter tops when we not there to stop him) every time we go out. This is very wasteful on rubbish bags and time consuming.
Hes very food driven and always on the scrounge, weve never managed to cure this issue since we rescued him. He would eat until he poped if we let him or he could, possibly starved before rescue.
Anyway anyone know of where we can get a dog proof dustbin for kitchen please?
Thank you

Good luck - I never managed to solve this problem in 6 years ...... Mr Ben was the biggest thief EVER and even managed to teach himself to open the downstairs cloakroom door (where I had resorted to sticking the bin in when I went out).
I eventually ended up using supermarket bags and took out to the outside bin whenever I left the house!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I never found a dog proof bin - sorry. Don't know if that is because it doesn't exist or if big dog was very clever / adept / persistent.
The only solution I found was to actually put the swing bin in the under sink cupboard.0 -
Actually just found this on amazon - no idea how good it is but the first comment is quite positive about driving the dog up the wall cos he can't get in it

I guess it would depend on whether the dog was a chewer Tizerbelle ... I know Ben would've just spent all day at it.
He even managed to break into the really thick storage tubs where his kibble was kept by charging at it and head-butting it until it broke!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

LOL! Big Dog was persistent with the swing bin when it was accessible but neither her nor Little Dog ever bothered with the kibble bin!0 -
Don't think one exists.
I also use carrier bags and carry them out as soon as they are full or I'm going out. So much so, I took the built in sorter bin out of the kitchen cupboard two days after I moved in here, as I was never going to get used to keeping garbage in the kitchen.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

We use carrier bags for the green recycle bin stuff, but even that ends up being rummaged through if its not put out right after cooking and before eating.Failure is only someone elses judgement.

would it not be easier to just not put the bin in the same room as the dogReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

Only if you amputate all four legs so the dog can't put himself in the same room as the bin.
Which would be a little more drastic than most of us would contemplate.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
