thats what i got told. have no credit history so didnt expect them to say yes at start, thought try and see lol will give them a phone tomorrow as already thought about the getting it in writing.

They won't put it in writing, anything could happen to your credit file in 3 months.

They'll base their decision on what's on your file when you apply, not what's on there now.

i know I'm a bit late but I can confirm that this is true. When I got my new phone with Orange they said to me if I failed the credit check they'd give me a 3 month SIM only deal. If after 3 months I'd behaved myself I could upgrade to a phone I wanted and re-arrange the plan accordingly.
