If everything works in safe mode, it doesn't point to a hardware problem

Yr graphics card is held in place (unless some Dells) by a screw or clip at the end backing onto your PC case. There is also a button or clip at the back low down at the back of the graphics card that locks the card into place on the motherboard - here is another forum on trials in moving the clip to one side etec etc...http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f15/removing-a-graphics-card-from-an-asus-motherboard-596334.html
I have bought a graphic card on the web and when it comes i will take it to the local repair guy and watch how he does it he is only charging me £20 and the graphic card is less than £30.

Thanks for the link i will feel much more confident to do it next time after i have seen how it is done.

    Once covers are off computer.
    Remove cable to graphics card/monitor.
Remove screw holding graphics card. If there is a cover over all the screws of additional boards remove this first (ignore if not there)
Remove any other wires/cables connecting graphics card to mother board/PSU
    Find clip rear of card.
    push clip with right hand
    Lift card with left hand

    Replacement is reverse of above.

If replacement is a different type of card Radion/Nvidia remove drivers and set to vga before removing card, then install new drivers once replacement is fitted.
