My pc will load windows until starting windows then the monitor goes blank. It says no signal detected check video cable.
Please advice. So far i have removed the ram and put it back tried different monitors but no luck so far.
The issue started out of the blue i had not installed anything. And another thing the keyboard doesn't seem to work either i was trying to start windows in safe mode so i could remove the video drivers and reinstall them again but the keyboard seems to have had it as well.
I am not sure if the issues are related. Please advice somebody.

It sounds like its switching to a screen resolution that your monitor doesn't support. You really need a working keyboard first though otherwise you can't reset it!

Have you, as the error said, checked the video cable is secure at both ends, or tried a different cable?
Which type of cable are you using? (VGA, DVI, HDMI)
If you get information on the screen up until the point windows starts to load, it could mean your graphics card is trying to use an unsupported mode.
As for the keyboard, easiest check is to try that keyboard on a different machine, or borrow another keyboard to try on yours. How do I add a signature?0 -
Thanks for the quick response.I have got another keyboard and i have got onto windows in safe mode. Please advice further how i can solve blank monitor issue

In safe mode you should be able to remove the graphic card drivers. This will (should) revert it to the native windows mode. When you then restart the machine it should load OK, although the screen display will look strange (similar to safe mode).
If you get this far, you can then install the graphics drivers again from the manufacturer's site or instal disc etc.How do I add a signature?0 -

I did remove the graphic card drivers and installed windows updates and graphic drivers.
Shortly after i got the message failure configuring windows updates reverting to previous system.
After restarting again i had the blue-screen of death and it says "attempt to reset the display driver and recover from the timeout failed"kido0 -
Have you tried restarting again since? How do I add a signature?0

do you have CCLeaner? If so, look at the system spec along the top of the ccleaner window, and go find the right graphics drivers direct from the manufacturer. You may want to try a system restore whilst in safe mode to before the problem occurred (if you have restore points available).......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

I have tried system restore to no avail.I still get the same screen of death.I have also tried downloading drivers from nvidia website but i am having no luck.
I have also attempted reinstalling windows 7 everything goes smoothly but the screen changes periodically on welcome screen to no signal detected and then i get the same error message and then windows restarts again.
No issues like that in safe mode.Any advice anyone?kido0 -
Not reading all the posts/suggestions, from what you've said and tried, soumds to me as if the graphics card (or if onboard the motherboard) may have a fault. Is there any way you can test with another graphics card?0

I am afraid i don't have access to another graphic card. Are they expensive to buy or fix?kido0
