JUNK MAIL Campaign

I used to religiously send junk mail back to sender until was warned not to by the OFT. If you send stuff back it only tells the sender that theres someone at the address so they'll keep on sending it. Worse they'll sell your details to another company.
What I do is return the mail with my personal details removed. But don't be too hasty about stopping junk mail as credit card companies send out 0% offers by way of junk mail & you might miss a good deal. the rest can be recycled.Every day above ground is a good day.0 -
if you really want revenge on these junk mail demons then follow these easy steps
tape the postage paid reply envelope/ card to a wrapped house brick
the offending mailer will have to pay the full 1st class postage on the brick
they will not be happy if more than a few of these start coming in
I tried to start this as a campaign a few years ago, wrote to most of the newspapers but they didnt want to know, probably because their advertisers are the ones doing the mailing.
The other thing i do is to shake out the junk inserts in magazines in the shop, but the sneaky ******** just staple them in or shrink wrap them with other bits.
Note from board guide: sorry to spoil the flow, but I had to edit out this particular word. I'm sure we all still get the gist of it though.Cymru Am Byth0 -

I like junk mail printed on paper. I've got a pet rabbit, so I put all the paper junk mail through a shredder and it keeps my bunny in a free supply of bedding! Can't do that with glossy paper though, as I read it can be harmful to animals if they eat it.
There is little benefit to the Postie for delivering door to doors. My OH is a postman and he hates them. It takes his round much longer as he has to go to every door, which adds up considerably in streets where houses have longer driveways or gates to open and shut. He only gets about 1p per house too, so it's not really a great incentive when you add up the extra walking and carrying the items.
His main pet hate is all the junk mail with pens in such as those shopping surveys, Capital One bank and the RSPB. The letters don't stack neatly in his bag because of all the pens, and it makes it awkward to fold envelopes to post them through small letterboxes.
I hate it when he's been doing the Cancer Research door to doors with a free pen in. He comes home in a terrible mood about themHere I go again on my own....0 -
i must be the only person on this board that wants junk mailed addressed to me to be delivered. like i have said before if im getting mail delivered to me on a daily basis even if most of it goes in the bin then i know my address and therefore my identiy hasnt been pinched.. They hijack your address by getting the mail redirected and by the time you have noticed they have secured loans etc and stolen your identity, so i welcome all the junk mail i can sign up to.. I open it and stick most of it in the recycling bin...Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
As this government(and others) prevent the P.O from charging an economic rate for delivering mail its no wonder they choose to deliver junk as a way of making a profit. They all seem hell bent on breaking it up and selling franchise off to private companies.Down south where, unfortunately, the government does remember us.0
