Recording and Pausing TV

Hello everyone
I'm new
I hope you can help. I've been a Sky customer for years and yesterday I saw the light and terminated my subscription. :j
I now have two Sky + boxes through which I appear to be watching freesat channels. But I cant record or pause using these old Sky boxes.
Can anyone advise what I should do to be able to pause/record relatively cheaply?
many thanks
kim

You need to pay $ky £10 per month for a Sky+ subscription in order to record/pause your freesat channels.

Or buy a Freesat recorder, which will be cheaper in the long run. (Or if you have a functioning aerial, a Freeview recorder might be cheaper as long as the channels you want are on Freeview). There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Sky is bad :rotfl:
Its weird having so few channels!0 -
You're watching FreesatFromSky, not Freesat.
You've got 2 Sky+ boxes, which I assume have 2 feeds from the satellites each (you can watch one record one). As above, Sky will want £10 per month to allow you to record! A Humax Foxsat HDR (HD, watch one, record one, iPlayer, pretty much same features as Sky+HD) can be had for around £180 refurbished from Humax's own website. It will slot in and plug into the same connections as your Sky box, but it would be better to use the HDMI cable that they supply. I don't think there's such a thing as an SD recording Freesast box.0 -

How many is enough?
Freesat has about 150 channels, no idea about Freesat From Sky.
Freesat will also give you the 4 HD channels. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sorry, maybe I sounded like a spoilt brat
;)
I didnt mean to.
Its just that after having such a huge choice, freesat from sky might provide 240 channels but almost all of them arent channels I watch
Still....onwards and upwards:D
Its either put up with what I have or get a freeview + or freesat ( humax?) +
Deciding which is a blinkin difficult thing.
What freesat for sky does is leave all the channels one used to watch there but blocked to entice one back to Sky as a subscriber! My poor 13 year old, love her, is tantalised!

If you want certain channels (usually sport or movies) then subscription TV is the only option, be it via Sky or VM.
!!!!!! is the best (certainly the cheapest) option for you if you can live without the PVR functions.
If you do want the PVR functions, then Freesat is the obvious choice for you, as the channel line up is similar to Freeview, but you won't need an aerial-you just use the existing dish and alignment, LNB and twin feeds. It's a straight box swap. Humax Foxsat HDR is the one to have.No free lunch, and no free laptop

!!!!!! is? Freeview Free Service?
PVR? is that recording and pausing?

!!!!!!=Freesat From Sky (what you are getting now).
PVR=Personal Video Recorder: Freeview or Freesat-based hard drive recorder that does the same job as Sky+ box.No free lunch, and no free laptop
