my french patio doors look very smeared when the sun shines on them (first time in ages today !!)
what would you guys recommend as the best smear free cleaner. hopefully a spray i can buy rather than a vinegar based home made concoction!! (unless that really is the best), and the best way to apply the recommended cleaner.
many thanks from a male in desperate need of som home education.

Sorry tg, but my other half uses white vinegar and water (50/50) followed by buffing with newspaper (very MSE). She may be gifted in terms of her polishing skills but frankly speaking the results are always spot on.0

The best one we use is also one of the cheapest around.
It is called W5 glass cleaner and is found in Lidl.
I came across it when we had our induction hob fitted and in the manual, it said the only recommended cleaner to use was this.
It cleans any grease off without a smear, I also use it on the mirrors and tv screen and no smears.
I spray it on and then use Kitchen towel ( paper) to clean it off. Considering I smoke like a trooper, It gets rid of any nicotine stains off the mirrors and leaves them sparkling and smear free0 -
I think scrunched up newspaper.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Clean with a wet cloth and dry with screwed up newspaper0

Liquid ammonia is a great glass cleaner (and general degreaser) you should be able to buy it from the traditional type of hardware store. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Vinegar and water rubbed dry with newspaper works for me. If you find the vinegar mix too complicated, just use the newspaper.0

Plenty to choose from here, I use the Glimmer Clean on the conservatory roof and windows really removes all the dirt and grime.

Hello! I make my own household cleanser (from tips I have seen on this website). It's basically an old spray bottle (mine's an old garden spray bottle) with 2cm Stardrops (usually available from Pound Shops!), 2cm white vinegar and then either a few drops of tea tree oil or 1 capful of Zoflora for antibacterial properties. Then just top up with water (slowly else it froths up). I find that this spray works for every possible cleaning use in the home - surfaces, floors, bathroom, kitchen etc and it works especially well on glass when used with a Micro fibre cloth (buy these from Pound shops or Asda has some reasonably priced in their car section!). I find that it cleans really well and costs very little (in true MSE style!).0
