Which new car for around £12k?

Drive the Deal were advertising new Hyundai 130's, both hatch's and estates, for about £10k just recently.0

the new vw up? will be worth good money in 5 years time.0

I'm with Bengal, if you're gonna spend £10k on a car, which is a fair wedge, get one you'll enjoy driving, rather than just something you see as reliable that will get you from A to B. Then when things go wrong 3 years down the line, you'll be much more forgiving to a car you really like.0

If not one of those then a honda civic.
That wouldn`t be the same Toyota that constantly have to recall all their cars would it?

I dont know of any recalls in 2011 or this year for Lexus, most tend to be around the prius.0 -
TBF, My IQ has had a couple of recalls last year, both precautionary to their credit. If it was Renault it would need to be on watchdog before they even acknowledged a problem.0

if you were paying £500 a year pure maintanance on a 10 year punto then i suspect you need to find another garage unless this was the fiat dealer in which case that mad on one of these cars
i too would recommend a panda, cracking cars but dont go puny engine if they are still doing it they are real slow0 -

Puntos aren't built to last, especially the early-2000s cars. Based on the experiences of family members and work colleagues £500/year is absolutely normal.
One of the few cars I wouldn't have given to me above a certain age. It may well be due to the type of buyer and how they're looked after but really, just no.0 -
I wouldn't be buying poverty spec anything if I had to live with it for the best part of a decade and it was my only car.0
