I agree with everything that has already been said and would like to add that my freesat is weather dependent. I can always tell when it is about to rain since the freesat goes pixellated and finally stops altogether. This does not happen often but the freeview is always there as a back up and always works.

The weather has absolutely no effect on my freesat. Panasonic P42V10 connected to the communal satellite dish if that makes any difference. Always a perfect picture through snow, heavy rain, thunderstorms etc.
    It's someone else's fault.

With Freeview it depends where you are, we are in the switch over process and all I can get at the moment are the BBC channels. When switchover completes I am forecasted to get ITV1 and +1, Channel4 and +1, 5, ITV2, More4, E4 and the 4 HD channels so Freesat wins hands down
  • I also have both, but tend to use Freesat because of the HD channels (I would need an extra box for Freeview HD).

As far as reception, my Freeview would fall out before Freesat, it mainly happens in cold weather (Inversion?)
A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove you don't need it.

The only reception problem I have with freesat is when crows sit on the bar between the LNB and dish. Then I am out throwing stones at the house.
