Kipling Bags

Hi, still having the dilemma of which bag to use after the purse losing incident.
I'm currently using my shoulder bag but it doesn't feel as safe now somehow. My leather cross body bag feels heavy before I put anything into it so am looking at the Kipling website as I feel a fabric bag might be lighter for daytime use.
Does anyone use these bags and are they OK? Looking at the website how can you tell the size of them? Are the small bags quite roomy as they do seem expensive for fabric bags and I don't want to be pay over £60 for the larger ones.
Also I tend to think fabric bags don't look very dressy.
Any views on this please?

Views? I'm afraid I think Kipling bags are hideous, but that is just my opinion. Plenty of people love them.
They are not dressy at all.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I haven't got one but think they seem a bit overpriced for what they are . There are lots of bags nicer and more reasonably priced I think.0

How about the Travelon bags, there are loads on QVC

We have a hospice charity shop which has a big choice of reasonably priced bags. Perhaps you could look round charity shops, should get something for a fiver. Or markets are good for bags. There is a bag stall in our market and it has a massive choice, any style you like, any colour.

Hi, thanks for your replies. I do like bags from the market but I find they don't last very long, the straps soon come off and the linings soon tear. I used to always avoid bags that cost over £20 but since a friend talked me into buying a leather one a few years ago I have found good bags last longer.
I use to like Wonderbags which were light and only cost about £20 and were good value but I never see them anywhere now.0 -
Kipling bags are very expensive if you buy them directly from Kipling. Have a look on Amazon or eBay and you will find some much better prices. They are extremely good quality and will last for years.
Most places that sell them should have sizes listed. Even their smallest ones tend to hold more than you think they would for their size.0 -
I got my black Kipling rucksack from Amazon (Ive got a bad shoulder so try to avoid shoulder bags) and although I had never paid that much for a bag before I think its been a brilliant investment - I use it for work and days out - it holds lots of stuff and seems really strong. It has already lasted a lot longer than most bags tend to and looks as good as new. I think Ive have had it three years now and used it nearly every day.
I don't know what their "dressy styles" are like though.
The best thing to do is to go into a store that sells them (if there is one near you) find the one you like and see if you can find it cheaper on Amazon or Ebay. Kipling also have their own sales every so often.0 -
I have a few Kipling bags & they are very good quality. They are very sturdy. My rucksack has been overpacked for many weekends away. They also handwash well. Some of them are hideous. Mine are all plain and in neutral colours. I think they are overpriced, but I got mine at Bicester village at 50-75% off.0

I love Kipling bags and i must have about 25 now.
I agree they are no 'dressy' or 'smart' but as practical everyday bags they are fab.
I genrally stay with the more muted colours; browns, greys, purples, dusky blues etc and often take the moneys off.
I like them because they are very light but strong and well made. The have really good organisation and hold lots without getting limpy and misshapen. They also machine wash and pack down well without getting damaged.
What size bag are you after Citygirl1 and i'll try and recomend one?I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
Hi thanks for your replies. I'm after a medium sized bag that I can just put essentials in and that will go across my body.0
