Actually now you mention it and whilst I don't get many questions you are right. When I do get questions the person then rarely bids
It's the same when people ask you to end item early, they rarely end up bidding when you refuse themI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I find this too, but it seems logical when I consider it. People who ask questions may be less sure about the item or looking for something very specific, hence asking the questions.0

Same for me also - it's quite a low amount of questions = sales.
I find that the questions and messages on eBay are quite high compared to pretty much nothing on Amazon.0

Soolin, whenever I sell variants of a certain item, the same bl00dy buyer asks me loads of inane questions in an aggressive manner...then doesn't bid. They have hundreds of positive feedbacks so I've not blocked them but they do bug me to bits.0

Actually I've had a buyer like that. luckily I don't carry that line any more as they drove me potty.
They had a cut and paste question, every bit of which was covered in the listing. It went something like:
Re your item xxx. Please respond by return with full external dimensions, unboxed weight in grammes, date of manufacture and country of origin. Please also advise of postage to Illinois zip code xxx
I responded politely the first few times, then when they asked the same question one day after I responded previously I just started sending back a cut and paste email, they never ever bid.
I also had an item on my private account, collection only. It just wouldn't sell but every time it went unsold I got the same message from the same buyer saying 'hi, I'm local to you and really want this item but missed it ending as I was out/ill/ at hairdressers/ (insert excuse), if I bring cash can I collect it at the weekend?
I always said yes and sent my address, and never heard another thing. I finally took it to the charity shop where it went for absolutely oodles of money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I ended up blocking aforementioned eBayer today because I got another annoying message, replied and the tone in the reply I then got was not very nice at all.0

I agree that it is the tone sometimes more than the questions.
I did have one buyer from one of the Balkan countries (can't quite remember where now) who asked really daft questions, but was so polite and so apologetic that their English was poor (it was easily as good as mine and i'm native born!) that I just couldn't take offence. She eventually managed to work out how to bid (she had a new account) and it took a while to talk her through paying by paypal, but she was so pleased with the item that it was actually worth the effort to help her.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had a darling of a "buyer" recently and for your entertainment, here's the e-mail conversation:
Me (after 3 days & no payment): "Hello. Could you let me know if you intend to pay by cheque or postal order, so that I can provide my details? Thanks"
Buyer: "VERY SORRY I WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY MORE ITEMS BY PAY PAL NEVER GOT ITEMS I PAID FOR ITS A TOTAL RIP OFF ON E-BAY"
Me: "Hi - does this mean that you wish to pay by cheque or postal order, or that you no longer wish to purchase the item?"
Buyer: "YES NO PAYMENT TILL E-BAY SORTS THE CONS"
Me: "May I ask why you bid on the item if you did not intend to pay for it?"
Buyer: "I BID AND PAY BUT WHEN PEOPLE RIP ME OFF I NEVER PAY"
Well, my dander was up at this point . I cussed a bit, counted to 10 and then replied. . I cussed a bit, counted to 10 and then replied.
Me: "Hello again. As far as I am aware, I have never had any dealings with you in the past. You chose to bid on an item I listed. You then won this item. I am happy to post this item to you when I receive payment. My listing states that I will accept payment by paypal. E-bay rules specify that I must give paypal as a payment option. However, the listing also states that I will accept payment by cheque, postal order or cash on collection. I have not "ripped off" you, nor any other buyer on e-bay (as evidenced by my feedback). I simply ask which method of payment you would prefer to use. So, to reiterate, if you do not wish to use paypal, do you wish to pay by cheque or postal order, or would you like to collect in person? Or, do you no longer wish to purchase this item? I hope that you will clarify. On a personal note, I don't know if you are aware, but when a person types a message in block capitals, it indicates that they are shouting? Maybe this is not your intention? I look forward to hearing from you."
(Did you picture pursed lips and finger wagging?))
And I never heard from them again - quite pleased about that really - what's the betting the item wouldn't have been received/wasn't as described? So yet another NPB and blocked bidder. I'm getting quite a list! - quite pleased about that really - what's the betting the item wouldn't have been received/wasn't as described? So yet another NPB and blocked bidder. I'm getting quite a list!
On looking at their f/b (all positive, as they don't sell and as we know, a buyer can't receive neg f/b ) it appeared that this buyer has had payment "issues" before. ) it appeared that this buyer has had payment "issues" before.
 I'm guessing they're not their only issues 0 0
