I'm on ridiculously strong immunosuppressants because i had a transplant and I'm still expected to use public transport to get about. I do get taxis to work but I needed to prove that I can't drive, use public transport on my own or walk to work.
  • I would call ACAS and ask for some advice as the will know how you are covered by the Equlities act 2010 that I have been told superseeds the DDA, not sure whether that is right but either way they will know.
well today was a complete waste of make up
  • Same way people who don't have cars cope. You manage. Or leave. I've seen people travel to work with facemasks on as well.

But it might be worth going back to the consultant to tweak the mtx dosage, as you shouldn't be ill when taking it.

  • I found the Equality and Human Rights Commission more helpful than ACAS when I needed advice on reasonable adjustments. The helpline number for the wales office is: 0845 604 8810.

I applaud you for trying to stay in employment, a lot of people would think it was too difficult and just go on benefits without a second thought.

Can you really claim out of work benefits for eczema?

The OP isn't; I suppose theoretically you could with repeated skin infections/celluitis and the like, along with the side effects of medications if it made someone unable to physically do their work, or allergic reactions if someone has atopic eczema that bad.

Sorry jojo I was referring to one Yorkshire lass saying well done to the OP for not dropping out of work due to this. Surely the JCP would tell the OP to sing for it if they tried to claim out of work benefits on these grounds?

I expect they would have a go at slinging it out; but I reckon there can be cases where it does make it impossible to work. Having seen the way my sister's youngest got when she was a toddler, had that continued into adulthood, I don't think she would have been capable of work. But the JCP/ESA/ATOS trinity works in mysterious ways that they don't even understand themselves....

... and caring for a disabled person. I wasn't just talking about out of work benefits.

The OP needs access to a car parking space so they can continue doing their job. Seems a simple request IMO.
