My local branch of Staples has a Securicor parcel service - it's just £8, and as far as I know there's no weight or size limit.

Parcelsend eventually agreed to take the item despite it being a whole 7 cm's over :-)

By the time I had negotiated this with them, it was 12:15, I was able to book same day collection on the web site, and then at 17:30 I received an e-mail syaing there was some problem with the web site and I should'nt have been able to book same day collection after 12:00.

Really annoying thing is Parcelsend subbied it out to parcelforce, who refused to carry it for me, and publicy quote twice as much as I paid parcelsend ???

How mad is that same service, for half the price !!

Just a quick note to say I've sold and shipped a 150kg pro cross trainer. I found https://www.astralcouriers.co.uk to be excellent. Just sent them an e-mail and they found a courier who took it away on his return leg! Can't remember the exact cost but it was abou 50 quid.

Thats about 300 quid cheaper than anyone else I found!!

My parcel was collected today. Booked through parcelsend (cost £9.95), actually carried by parcelforce (quote from website - £28). How can Parcelforce justify charging almost 3x as much as parcelsend?!!! I think it just highlights how much parcelforce oveercharge private senders.
