Best Postage Rates

Hi, im fairly newbie @ ebay selling, I''ve done a quick search on this site, but can't find an answer.

Can anyone give me a steer on best postage rates, I have a large parcel (about 22kg) that I need to send.

Best rates I can find are http://www.sendaparcel.com who are offering parcels up tp 30kg for £10.50 + VAT, which seems particuarly good against parcelforce, who want nearly double that.

Does anyone know of any better rates ?

Has anyone used sendaparcel before ???

Thanks in advance for any help .....

Parcel2go.com are a couple of quid cheaper but people there are varying reports as to their efficiency. I've used them a dozen times and had one incident when they did not pick up on the day the should have. I was given two free deliveries by way of compensation.

I'm in a similar situation and have found:
    https://www.senditquick.com who charge £9.99
    and
    https://www.samedaydispatch.uk.com who charge £10.50

I haven't used them yet as the auction hasn't ended. Does anyone have experiance of them?

The problem with parcel2go is that the maximumweight is 25kg, so check your item doesn't weigh more than that when packaged up!

I've used parcelsend once & the service was excellent:
48 hour delivery, DOOR TO DOOR, upto 30kgs to most UK destinations for £9.95 inc vat.

I organised it through this link:

    http://www.parcelsend.co.uk

A parcelforce van collected the consignment from me (weighed 29.2 kgs),
and it was delivered next morning before noon..even though it was a 48 hour service.

If I had booked it through Parcelforce..it would have cost about £35 !!!!!

    seem pretty good too
  • Thanks everyone for your quick responses,

I am strugling though as all of them state a maximum dimension of 3.0m ((Height + ((Width + Length) *2))

Which I miss by about 18cm.

I've tried jumping on the box, but it doesn't get any smaller :D

I've mailed all of the companies already suggested, to see if they will take it, but if somebody knows of any courier that will take this kind of parcel, without charging me a pallet price of £50+ please let me know !!

Will you let me know how you get on. Mines just about the right size unwrapped, so packaging may send it over the edge.

I've booked parcelsend to pick it up from me tommorow. Mine only just met the size guidelines (I may have shaved 1cm or 2 off when measuring!), so I'll let you know how I get on.

    Good luck sleepy!

I'm such a wimp that I once donated a perfectly OK working PC Monitor to a charity shop who didn't want it really, just because I had no idea how to post it out if I listed it on ebay!

Soo (pathetic ebay wimp really who will only sell easy things)

    Thanks.
This is the first time I've sent anything large, I normally just sell small things that I can take to the post office. I'm quite worried in case they don't come to collect tommorow - I'm going away for 2 weeks on Wednesday!
