    Evening lovelies :hello:

Busy day for me today but I seem to have accomplished nothing! Don't you just hate those days?! :(

My milk and more delivery came this morning, got my toilet rolls and free creme eggs :T:Tbut Toffifee was out of stock :( ... I REALLY don't need them anyway so probs a good idea :o

Just popped to T's for whoopsies 2.5kg King Edwards, 2 bags cauli/broccoli, 1 pack Finest plums, 1 Iceberg lettuce and a bag of 8 fresh samosas for 74p minus 50p JTD from wombled receipt = 24p spend! :T:j This seems to be my new trick, combining exercise with whoopsying...seems I can power walk a lot faster to the supermarket if I think I'm missing out :p:rotfl:And then carrying the heavy bags home works a treat for the arms. Terribly MSE leaving the car at home too :money:It's a 2 mile round trip to all 3 supermarkets (A's, T's&M's) or 1.5 miles if I just do A's&T's :D (Yes I worked it out :o)

Hope everyone had some luck with the Boots Sactuary glitch, I decided against ordering for myself as I have a ridiculous amount of toiletries and though the gifts are gorgeous, they're not really the sort of presents I'd give to friends (need a wine glitch for that ;):rotfl:)

Hope the majority have had a better day today and hugs to those that haven't :Axx

    Off to catch up!

Can I ask how you get 10 vouchers? I did the first one and it said you can just show the code on your phone, you don't need to print, so then did it again and got the same code, so did you get different codes? Very confused.

With the 10p water one the other week I used the same code twice, in 2 different Bps. I just showed them the same text message, I think maybe the codes are generic.

It seems to me that the best way at the moment to take advantage of our beloved Tesco is DTD at the CS desk. Do we all have a favourite response when asked why we didn't notice the obvious overcharge at the till? Shall we do a straw poll to find out who says what?

My favourite is to say "I didn't want to hold up the queue and I know you have this fabulous national policy of DTD, so I always switch off at the tills and check my receipt AFTER I have paid. This way, I can't lose.

What are other favourites used by 11+ members

Just have 4 boys with you aged 10,9,8 and 7. They know why i did not notice and you get the dtd very quick because they get bored fast.

  • Thankyou...the last bit made me laugh.. I got so spoilt so am feeling very lucky. My parents aren't the type to spoil us (I mean not one of the type of parents to spent over £50 on bday pressies, as I know so many parents including myself do lol!) but today got such a shock.. They had allready paid for tickets for me to see swan lake which were not cheap and that was my main pressie, so just expected to get a couple of smellies etc but turned up and they had just gone compeltley mad... my dad had brought balloons, got a beautiful pearl bracelet, earrings, face creams, one of those neck warmers cos I am constantly aching... and of course the practical side of my mum decided I also needed gardening gloves (pink and floral of course:rotfl:) and wait for it... most exciting present of all..... gardening shears... :rotfl:
Think my Mum may be hinting that my garden needs work :rotfl:

Aww that sounds lovely - its nice to be spoilt once in a while!! My mum bought me some (pink) gardening shears when I moved into my house.......I've not even got a garden!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Erm I'm not sure if I've got the hang of this money saving.....I seem to be spending more money buying 'bargains' that I don't really need - oops!! :)

I had the same barcode too on all 10 vouchers

On the T&Cs it states "limited to one voucher per item (max 10 items per customer" i took that as 1 voucher per Mars Bar so 10 vouchers = 10 Mars Bars.

I saw that you could have the code on your phone but thought if i had 10 printouts it would look better when getting 10 bars, Just incase they looked at my phone and said you only have one code...

I printed them in B&W as not to use up ink... in the end only used 2 printouts for 20 bars... will stock up with the remaining printouts...:D

Edit : Ive just done another voucher, not printed it, again the code is the same

Well, our friends Steve & Andy came over at 9 am and we went down to the car boot and they helped me to sort out stuff in one of the storage units. We got loads done due to their hard work, and a mate came and took away some items that he'd given Mr 3Dogs to sell for him. All in all, good progress made :j :j

After a bite to eat, we went over to the hospital to see Mr 3Dogs who was ok. He'd been up in his chair for 2 hours this morning and was lying in bed reading a book. The doc came to see us and ran through what had happened, what the position was, and what is going to happen. When they'd gone in to drain off the infection from his appendectomy op, they found that he had a large abcess on his bowel which had gone through the wall of the bowel and fused to other tissue  They dealt with this and inserted a drain to get rid of the infected fluid. They also found a golf ball size tumour which they's removed with part of the larger bowel, and fitted a stoma/coloscopy bag. As the cancer had spread from the bowel to the liver, part of which was also removed, this did mean that it was Stage 4, final , cancer and untreatable :(

Mr 3Dogs might be home on Monday, which is good news, and has to rest and recover from this operation, ready to meet with oncologist in 5-6 weeks time who will discuss the chemo options and the pros and cons of the treatment. Mr 3Dogs could then decide whether to have the chemo or not. The prognosis is that he has between 6 months and 2 years left, though this was only an estimate and varied by many things including the strength of the patient. The doc said that he considers him strong both mentally and physically :)

Mr 3Dogs was quite pleased with this prognosis as he was worried that doc would say only a couple of months or so, meaning he'd have just enough time to get his head around it, when it would be over. He said that we must make the most of the time he has left and enjoy life :A

I have done the round of texting and phoning, updating everyone with this new information and now just having a glass of wine before going to bed. I have been VERY tired today so lads aren't coming over till 1 pm tomorrow to do more sorting down at the car boot before going over to see Mr 3Dogs again
    :( Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12 :( 3Dogs'Mam 31-3-13 :(
