I have this image of you cooking a meal for me ............. in your purple tights   Thanks for such a kind offer :A

Evening guys - hope you are all well :D

I went to see Mr 3Dogs from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. He'd had the morphine drip removed this morning, as well as his catheter which is good progress. However, he'd been in his chair for 20 minutes and felt he'd overdone it as he was in pain and very tired when I got there. Nurse gave him some orimorph to take the edge off the pain. He was also quite down today, probably after coming off the morphine. Despite having the catheter out from 8 am and drinking 2 jugs of water/squash, he could have a wee, no matter how hard he tried, and he was staining himself trying, so the nurse checked with the doc and re-fitter the catheter which started to drain immediately ;)

He doesn't feel much like eating and didn't have any of his supper, but has had small amount of his dinner and is drinking plenty fluids

He told me that the Macmillan Nurse had been to see him this morning and would start off a claim for him, and that she would be round with the doc tomorrow so I should see her then :D

We have been worrying over a decision which we knew was the right thing to do for practical reasons but our hearts were telling us otherwise. However, we made the decision and I called at the kennels on my way to the hospital and explained the new situation, and asked them about rehoming Billy :( Things are going to be tough over the next few weeks/months and Billy is going to be a problem. He is very strong and I struggle giving the two of them one walk a day, whereas he need 3 good walks, and I can't see Alan being able to manage dog walks while undertaking chemo. Bess is smaller and less trouble so we feel able to cope with her and little pup Molly, but have to be practical and quite selfish and let Billy go to a new home. The kennels understood as we have hinted at this before and they will contact the lady who does the rehoming at their kennels, and she will get in touch with me. I didn't go into the runs today to see Billy & Bess as I would have got too upset and it would have unsettled them, though I was dying to see them :(

Tough decision, but we both agree that it has to be done :(:( We even discussed whether Bess should be rehomed too, but feel that she won't be as much trouble :o Big drastic changes for us but that comes with the diagnosis :(:(

I don't really know what to say to you, you just come across as so brave and in control. I am finding it really hard with my FIL but if it was my OH i don't really know where i would be as finding it hard to think straight as it is.

For what its worth i believe you have made the right decision regarding Billy, as hard as it is for you at least he will have a new home where he is going to get the love and attention he needs - not that he doesn't get it with you as im sure he is spoilt rotten - but it should make your life a little easier as you will have one less thing to worry about.

I am not a religious person in any way shape or form, but i have been saying my own little prayers for you and Mr 3Dogs .

Really hope you get some positive news on friday.

Much love to you both will be thinking of you xxx

  • still catching up so this might have been answered- i got 10 x 50g GV for 65 euros/£56. This was only last week at schipol

50g? I thought Holland had moved to 45g or 40g pouches?

You do get 50g pouches in Schiphol but they are only for Duty Free (travelling outside Europe)

Quiche and chips are in the oven. I'm debating whether I should have some beans with them but I'm quite capable of lifting the duvet all night without the help from beans so late on.

Loving it! And we could all hold up our trousers with baler twine and wander around stores singing a Wombles song. We'd probably get locked up!

Let's hope so. It seems rather difficult to get the old noggin around. Hope some of you will guess who I am.
