  • I've got a lovely dinner service that I keep for best only a certain little muppet managed to put a chip in one of the big plates and broke the corner off a side plate. I use the big plate as my everyday dinner plate and I managed to glue the corner back on to the side plate and use it for a candle on top of my bedside drawers.

They were quite expensive too but at the end of the day they cost me nothing.

Just for clarification I'm not that 'muppet'

    Morning folks.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

Morning everyone. Sunshine trying to break through here but distinct lack of success so far.
Also, can anyone give me any details on washing powder or capsules that are going cheap!? really need a good deal on washing powder! :(

Morries have the 25 wash 2kg boxes of Surf Powder (Tropical and Oriental) on offer for £2.50, which is pretty good at 10p a wash. This is one of the brands under Unilever VIP, so there is a coupon for an extra £1 off if you haven't already signed up, so just £1.50 for the 2kg.

  • I've got another Mac tip for you and the other person that was pretty new to them.

I've forgotten what number I was up to but anyway....

    This one is quite important..

Go to 'System Preferences' (Apple logo top left>System Preferences)

    Click on 'Security & Privacy'

Select 'Firewall' then 'Start' then 'Preferences'

Then make sure the following options are ticked.

To take a screenshot simply press cmd+shift+3 for a full screen shot or cmd+shift+4 to select a partial area to screenshot.

Thanks HC, I'm still running Leopard so my security windows look a bit different, but I have implemented some extra features I didn't know about so thanks. I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts, my favourite is cmd + F3 (or wherever your mulitwindow icon is) to move all the open windows out of the way, and show the desktop, press again and it goes back to how it was.

And if anyone on here is a keyboard-only user, please PM me. I test websites for a disability charity and they are short of keyboard-only users. What that means is you navigate webpages without using a mouse or trackpad, but only using the keyboard.
