I had just gone upstairs, got sorted, and had just pulled the covers back to get into bed ............. and my mobile rang - I was terrified to answer it as it was 1.10 am. It was Mr 3Dogs and he sounded very calm so I asked him if he knew what time it was, he said yes and that he'd had a shower, got ready in clean pj's & dressing gown, packed some things in a bag and didn't know whether to ring doctors or 999   His stomach was tender and very swollen above and to the side of the wound from his op:( :( I told him to ring 999 but he insisted on ringing docs as they'd told him to get back to them if pain got worse

He rang the docs number and was redirected to out-of-hours service who said that someone would ring him back. He got a call within 5 minutes and the lady he spoke to told him to get to Doddington. He hit the roof when she told him to get a cab when he said he couldn't drive and had no-one to take him, saying he would just have to ring 999 then, but she then said 'oh no, I will get someone out to see you'. So he waited for doc to come, expecting to have to go to hospital :(:(:(:(

Half hour later a doctor arrives and within seconds confirms that Mr 3Dogs has to go to hospital. He examined him and checked his temperature which is high. He was only there 5 minutes and that included calling the ambulance, doing his paperwork and a letter for Mr 3Dogs to give to ambulance-man. He was told it could be anything up to an hour for it to arrive, depending how busy they are, but it was ordered at 2.15 am and arrived at 3.10 am and he is now on his way to Kings Lynn Hospital :(

I was talking lots to Mr 3Dogs on the phone and he is quite calm, knowing he has to get to hospital and that he will then be in the right place. He went off to unlock the door while waiting for the doc and there was such a clatter and he was away a while. I was getting very worried at this end but when he got back to the phone he told me he had remembered the kitchen bin needed emptied   :D

I am so so glad that I am going back home tomorrow but won't actually get home until 10.30/10.45 pm so will not be able to see Mr 3Dogs until Thursday :(

goodness me hun you are all having such a difficult time, I really feel for Mr 3dogs he is going through a terrible time, what a lucky man he has though to have such a loving caring wife like you. Sounds as if you must be shattered with all this, I am glad you can use this site as a form of support because you really need it. Mr 3dogs must be a good one imagine thinking about emptying the bin at a time like that, shows he has good spirit. What you are doing for your Mum is amazing, you are all such a lovely family and give such good care and support. I hope you are looking after yourself too. It must be hard trying to split yourself it two and trying to be there for everyone. take care i am following all your posts and thinking of you xxxxxx

Just caught up on the last few pages, skipped a lot out.
Haven't been on since yesterday morning due to first being busy and second because I ended up in A&E from 7 pm yesterday until 3.30 am this morning
We went to the skateboarding park with the older kids from our after school club last night, I'd just walked in the gate but didn't see a tiny step and tripped on it, landed on my face and knocked myself out! Have now got a very cut and bruised face, nothing broken just dreading seeing the kids this afternoon.
I keep forgetting how sore my face is and go to rub or scratch it then end up in agony and only just remember about the cuts and bruises :rotfl:

Hope you are ok. Reminds me of myself. Always telling children to be careful of this that or the other, but its always me that trips or falls:rotfl:
Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.
  • dcon_blue and anyone else worried about SSM and posts being reported "maliciously", I just got an email back from them saying the moderators will review them.

Don't know what that means really but that's what they've said.
