If you use a CC, any transaction that can be linked by other CC accounts, addresses, phone numbers, names, etc will be linked and logged. Including Price check vouchers, DTDs if the receipt is scanned and a CC was used and any returns if a CC is used. Including CC vouchers issued from other accounts. Including every call and e-mail to CS and H/O (your phone number is logged as soon as the call goes in).
At the push of a button, T can (and will) lay out in one hit your entire transaction history at any/all of their stores or on-line down to the last 1p item purchased and the last bottle of wine returned. I suspect that the T transaction history of any one of us would make very interesting reading if captured in its entirety in one place.
There is a strong suspicion that they can also link payment cards but that is illegal so they can't use that data, and the more paranoid also start wondering about IP addresses.
There is more, a lot more, that T can and does record, including as we all know, monitoring the use of MSE and similar forums (fora?). Just because T does permit us to bend their own rules (eg by using someone else's clubcard vouchers or by cirumventing the Price check rules on number and value of claims per household per month) does not mean that it can't come back to bite us. 99.9% of the time T is not interested, not looking, but a few are unlucky enough to be in that 0.1%.
To repeat advice already given, just tread slowly and carefully and if you think you may be sailing a bit clsoe to the wind and there is any danger of popping up on the T radar, then I personally would stick with cash and no CC.
Good advice. It's amazing how many transactions we do that we forget about too!
I phoned HO recently....first time ever....as I got trouted by a particularly rude member of staff. I'd paid by cash but gave my details to HO and remembered I have a tesco credit card so they could look at all my transactions with my card. I looked myself and found about 10 DTD transactions on it. Not sure what they could actually do with such information of course as I've merely taken advantage of their generous offer of compensation for an overcharge but it does make you think.
I've not used my CC now apart from filling up with fuel. I also always use cash. Itys simply not worth the agro given how few points they are giving out!0 -

The coupons in my eyes are fine. Whether they honour all the Love2Shop vouchers etc remains to be seen but they will stay as 'processing' until they are sent out hence why they asked for the address. Guess we'll be waiting until after the weekend to see what happens.
Need a glitch on printer paper now0 -

I've had experience with Auston Reed before so beware about this. DH had a giftcard voucher for £50 sent to him from Austin Reed (complaint about something). Turns out that their policy on "vouchers" for AR are only valid on full priced stuff and nothing in the sale. He couldn't redeem it for ages as they pemanently seemed to have a sale on. Finally bought a suit for a small fortune and used it then. So it's great if you plan on spending £50 on a shirt but I very much doubt you'll be able to spend it on better value sale stuff, only full priced merchandise. Hope I'm wrong though and people can take full advantage of it.Tiger
I'm a body double for Claudia Schiffer and i wont get out of bed for less than [STRIKE]£10k per day[/STRIKE] a 1p find0 -

I posted on the SSM FB page asking if anyone knew HC. I did not want to ask if anyone was from MSE just in case.
Hope you don't mind
Ahhhh. No worries.0 -
