That looks good enough to me

    I'll give it a go then:D

I can't believe it blew out of my hand as I left the store and typical it landed right in front of a 4x4 to be run over. Luckily I managed to grab it back.

Hiya hun - thanks for the prayers, detial of Mam & Mr 3Dogs to follow ;)

What a fab cake Miss Laid:j :j perfect for Mad - Happy Birthday Mad :dance::dance::dance::dance: and to Decay for yesterday too

Still got lots of catching up to do, but before I get back to post 501, just want to update you on Mam:

My brother went down to see Mam at 10.45 am, I got there 2.45, he left 3.30 pm, my sister got there 4.15 pm and we were there till 7.10 pm. There had been quite a bit of blood again this morning but only spots later in the day. Mam was tired this morning, picking up about 2 pm, when she got chatty again. The carers, nurse and Doc were all good today. Carers popping in to see her and raise a laugh, one sittign with me and Mam this afternoon for half an hour and Mam laughed the whole time he was there. He commented on how yellow she looked and I said the doc told us it was just the lighting, but he has spent quite a bit time with Mam as he is on the social activities team, and he definitely noticed the change in her

The doc called in when Mam was eating her dinner so called back later and said that, if Mam still bleeding tomorrow or later, they have something they can give her, short-term, to help her. She said they can't be certain of the cause of the bleeding but can try to make her as comfortable as possible. She is on tomorrow too, and said she would check her again then to see if they would be giving her this other medication. This is the doc who saw her briefly on Monday, not the senior doc my sister had a go at for not even looking in on Mam on Tuesday (she is on holiday now)

So it was a much better day for us today, though very tiring of course

And we had good news today. I was really proud of Alan ringing up on his own to sort out the submission of his Debt Relief Order on Tuesday, as he hates using the phone and dealing with things like this. But he said the chap who dealt with it was fantastic and it was no problem to do it. It was submitted on 14th December, and I kept checking on the Insolvency Register to check if it was approved and there it was this morning - approved on 15th February 2012 so his moratorium period will end on 15th February 2013 at which till his debts will be discharged :j :j so will both be totally Debt Free at that point

    Isn't this woman fantastic!!!
    I love 3 dogs

A £5 gift card on it's way to me :T ... details later after I get everyone to bed! :D

Right my story goes like this ...

    • Returned 4 x tins of tuna (£4) and a girls fleece (£5) - separate receipts
    • Had a £5 off £40 MOC and a £4.96 (JTD on 2 jars of Gold Blend)
    • New basket (trying for another £40) incuded:
      • Loose Bananas (£0.39)
      • 2 x Toothpaste (£1.99) OOD SEL £1.00 on tootpaste section (empty shelf) - current offer 2 for £3 on aisle end (for some reason I read this as 3 for £3 and so got just 2 tubes on purpose ... doh!)
      • 1 PED egg (SEL £4.75) - scanned at £9.99
      • 1 ltr Malibu (£19.29)
      • 8 x Kitchen towels (£4.50)
      • 2 x 2 ltr of milk (£2.00)
    • Basket total £40.15 but unexpected multibuy on toothpaste brought total down to £39.17 so couldn't use conditional MOC
    • Tried to add bag of 18 x Hula Hoops (£2.09) but couldn't on SS cos I'd already pressed the button and tried to pay
    • SA on SS suspended shop and took me to manned till where the shop was recalled, hoola hoops added, I paid and left (to the lobby area where I could check my receipt without causing a blockage)
    • Noticed the over charge on the tootpaste and PED egg so off to CS I go
    • told SA at CS about me trying to get £40 to get MOC and my funny looking receipt (i.e. that I was concetrating on totals not item prices and was surprised to see multibuy and had to move to another till and add hula hoops to take me over £40 etc)
    • she went off (took her time) and came back with SEL showing current offer for toothpaste and said it was the only one ... I said it wasn't the one I saw on the aisle ... she said no it was at the end of aisle where the current off was ... so I took her to 'my SEL' ... she said that was OOD and even though it was still there it didn't count cos of the new offer ... anyway I thought I'd accept this and see what she had to say about the PED egg
    • She agreed I'd been overcharged and aked me to pop card in reader ... did a refund and I started to move away from desk
    • Noticed it was a JTD refund (£5.24) ... I questioned this
    • She said DTD was only applicable on certain items (although she couldn't tell which) ... she asked another on CS desk who just nodded in agreement with her
    • She also said that cos I hadn't left the store I wasn't entitled to DTD ... I said I had cos I was in the lobby area
    • She also said she didn't have permission to give DTD
    • I still wasn't convinced so she said she'd get someone else but it could take time
    • I said I could afford about 10 mins so I'd wait
    • She goes off looking for this other person
    • Then comes back and she and the other SA start looking in their little pink phone book for 'Emma'
    • She finally speaks with Emma and then aks for my card again
    • I get another £5.24
    • No apology, no explanation ... nada
Anyway, call to HO ... recall the above scenario and I'm getting a £5 card as an apology.

The guy @ HO was very nice:
    • Tootpaste = "Did you pay more with the current offer?" "Yes" "You were overcharged then and entitled to DTD" ... simples
    • PED egg = DTD applicable to ALL overcharges ... no such things as "only on certain items"
    • DTD = due as soon as transaction is complete ... in fact it's better if you've not left the store cos they can remove the offending SEL asap and prevent further over charges
    • made a note of a clear need for DTD training
    :T:T:T

    In summary:
    • £40.15 shop (inc hula hoops)
    • less £5 MOC
    • less £4.96 JTD voucher
    • Total £31.30
    • less £10.48 DTD on PED egg (2 x £5.24)
    • less £7 (ish) future JTD from Malibu
    • less £5 gift card
    • Total £19.30
Which given the Malibu was £19.29 means I got everything else for 1p and another £5 MOC for next week. :j

    *** THE END ***

sorry meant 9 packs for £4 but its the pampers sensetive ones in the white packet i think individual price is normally around £2.44 they have 56 in each packet, come in a box. they had normal white price tag on them but it said "was £5 now £4" which was wrong because they have never been £5. sent mu out today to pick me up another 5 boxes but she couldnt find them so don't know if they have been pulled or the eastbourne store just run out. :)

oh thats ok don't worry :) yes i know the ones you mean - i thought 12 packs sounded a bit too good to be true!! I go through soooo many wipes (i have twins!) so am always on the look out for a good baby wipe bargain!
Erm I'm not sure if I've got the hang of this money saving.....I seem to be spending more money buying 'bargains' that I don't really need - oops!! :)
  • Sorry to put a dampener on your generous post but I think you are not allowed to link to coupons on here. I think you need to post it on the coupon thread and then post a link here linking to your post on that thread iyswim.

Thanks for the voucher though. :)
    Bookworm63 wrote: »
Not sure that it will even be allowed on there FK as its not an official link

    Thanks for your replies:D

I've edited the post and just put a link to the comfort thread on HUKD. The coupon link is in that thread if anyone is still searching for it. That's probably the lazy way of doing it but baby has finally just went to sleep and I'm too tired to do anything else:p

No, its not an official link but it prints exactly the same as the previous official link I had found on MSE a while ago but which is no longer available as far as I can see. I've printed and used it ok today.
