Orange Mobile Broadband

Hi,
I had a mobile broadband account with Orange for £15 p/m but have not used the service for a year now, I don't even have a dingle as it broke!
I tried to cancel the account but was told that it would cost me a cancellation fee to do so and that I could cancel in November last year. I had a new baby arrive around that time and due to one thing or another, never contact Orange and now I have received a letter from debt collectors asking for over £100 to be paid.
I have not used the service, do not have a dongle and had stated to Orange in 2011 that I no longer wanted the service and wanted to cancel when the account was up for renewal so are they within their rights to automatically re subscribe me and then send debt collectors after me?
Please help!!!
Thanks.

Did they re-subscribe you or did you simply forget to cancel and incur further monthly bills?0
