Amazon super saver delivery woes
Comments
-
I always use SuperSaver and almost always get the (in stock) things I ordered two days after I order them.
The exceptions are:
1) Near Christmas.
2) Indigo Starfish items.
both of which are to be expected.
What I do notice is that the delivery estimate is usually extremely pessimistic.
I have seen numerous complaints from people using Amazon Prime who seem to habitually get slower deliveries than I do with SuperSaver. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
It's strange as I find Indigo Starfish items from Jersey generally arrive quicker than Amazon.co.uk items with Super Saver Delivery. Super Saver for myself is usually 2 days for dispatch and around 3 working days for delivery so turns up one week after ordering. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

It might be because Post Office have a rule where you can claim an item went missing after a stipulated time has passed. I guess Custardy will be able to provide more accurate info regarding this.
Once I had to wait 2 weeks from the date of dispatch in order for Amazon or the Post Office to officially report the item as missing, albeit it was pretty obvious that the it went missing in the post after 5 working days.
Have you tried contacting Amazon? If your item, doesn't arrive by 24th then report it as missing. As a goodwill gesture, Amazon will send your item as a first class post. That's what happened to me and I got my item the following day.0 -
The 9th was Friday... it's Tuesday morning.
If you were so bothered about having it quickly, why didn't you pay for delivery? 2nd Class in my experience does indeed take a few days at the moment.
Instead of hassling customer services, I'd use the time to read through Royal Mail's website about delivery times.0 -

it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Look at it this way if Amazon said it was going to arrive 3 days after dispatch and it didn't people would be disappointed.
So they use incredibly long expected arrival dates and then when it turns up early - you're happy!Don't grow up. Its a trap!

I am just posting an update to my case. My original item was never delivered!
After a 3 week wait, Amazon finally sent me a replacement item (free of charge) which I received 3 days later.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
I've noticed over the last 3 months delivery has got later and later. I order years ton of stuff from amazon as it is so convenient. I suppose it's a bit lazy as everything is in the same place.
I've two items over 5 day past their delivery date! Getting fed up.0 -
On the subject of Amazon delivery - I placed an order late Wednesday night. Normally I would never pay for postage but this was for a friend that needed it urgently so I checked out the various delivery options. To guarantee it by 1pm Friday was £8.99, £7.99 for end of business Friday. I opted for First Class at £3.99. The item arrived by 10am Friday!
I'm not sure if that means I was exceptionally lucky or if paying over the odds for postage serves no purpose whatsoever.
