You can ask the buyer for the info, but if they out to screw you, I doubt they will offer much help, sorry.
What data protection laws would a scan of a post office receipt break? I have a receipt sat in front of me now - the only information im given about the person i sent it to is a house number and a postcode - the rest of the information displayed is in relation to the parcel - hardly confidential information.
What 3rd party are you talking about when you say: Identifying an individual to a 3rd party by data held on a database?
I happened to find out which post office was used to post my item (or lack of) back and the only information they hold (on their system and via their printouts) are the tracking number/barcode, the time the postage was processed and the total cost - no other information is given, so they certainly don't hold senders/receivers details on a database.....0 -
Okay, your right, your attitude on both of these threads has been correct and you should be commended as a perfect seller.
I hope that helps you.0 -

my last reply was a genuine question - if you could provide me with the answer it may explain why ebay are not interested in even entertaining the idea of asking for post office receipts from the buyer to prove this was an empty package.
Im slightly confused by your comment regarding my attitude - i appologuise if ive offended anyone. I don't understand ebay law in these circumstances as this is the first dispute ive ever encountered in the 8yrs of me being on ebay. What i think is right and what actually happens are two very different things (as ive learned).
I cannot gelp if i think ebay have sided with the buyer for all the wrong reasons - my empty package is solid proof that not always the buyer is right - i don't believe this is attitude, this is my opinion, just as you are entitled to yours, im entitled to mine - we may disagree, but the fact remains ive been scammed and need advice on this situation - everything up until now is in my mind irrelevant.
If i was a perfect seller i wouldn't have had a case opened against me, received negative feedback, lost a dispute through an ebay decision and received an empty package!!!!!0 -
