TV Purchase

Hi,

Hope someone can help me as I seem to be banging my head against multiple brick walls.

The better half and myself were watching TV the other night when we heard a cracking sound come from the TV. On closer inspection the outer casing of the tv at the bottom had a few cracks in it and it was rough to touch.

The TV is a 47" LED just 2 months old and was purchased from currys. We have spoken to both currys and LG, Lg say its down to Currys to sort and Currys say that they will take it off us for upto 28 days whilst they repair it leaving us with nothing in return.

My argument is surely i'm being reasonable when asking for it to be replaced, due to it being faulty goods?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

The retailer wil repair, replace or refund-it's up to them. You have no automatic right to a replacement, nor to a temporary replacement-you can but ask.

For all they know, you might have had a guest who used it to wedge open a door. You have no right to a replacement, unless you paid extra, so you could pick up a cheap one at a market for £25 or so to keep you going until it is repaired. If they decide the fault has been caused by misuse, then you have a bigger problem, but take it step by step, and see what turns up. Meanwhile, check forums for your make and model to see if similar issues have arisen.
