Hang on...can we split the two issues here.

Whether you are on a two or one pipe system has no relevance to the state of the boiler and we are still no clearer as to what is actually wrong with it.

Have all indies who have looked at it agreed that it cannot be repaired?

Incidentally, the only people with legal authority to enter and inspect/disconnect appliances are duly authorised officers of a public gas transporter. All others must seek the end users permission.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Our gas has been capped at the mains so the boiler isn't dangerous.

Had another independent out yesterday and he also says he thinks we are on a two pipe system. So seem BG got it wrong!! He is sending a quote in the post but agreed with everything the first independent said.

    I am in Reading

Any photos forthcoming? Details on BG's paperwork left with you as per gas regs.?

Agreed. 43 posts in and we are none the wiser as to what the actual problem is.
