Childrens Bonds

I opened a childrens Bond some years ago for a child from a previous marriage. She is now 19 and I have no contact with her and do not know where she lives, I have been told that the money will just have to sit with the company until she contacts them. She does not know she has the plan and I have not contact with mother or daughter. What can I do to retrieve the funds?

I would imagine that the money, though provided by you, is owned beneficially by your daughter, in which case you can't retrieve it - the company will only release the funds to her.
Although you have no contact with your ex-wife or child, perhaps you know where your ex in-laws live - perhaps they could contact her on your behalf and explain that a sum of money from her father awaits collection?
Otherwise, I suppose that at her age, she might be on one of the social networking sites - maybe it would be possible to re-establish contact?0 -
