It would not have looked odd at all. Suburbanwifey has made me cry tears of gratitude and has helped me think straight for the first time in a while.

No pressure then! I will post for your delightful daughters, not a problem. Although I'm not sure about what I will post about tonight, maybe a version of what I'm going to do work-wise. That will quite boring for them. But the theme is supposed to be growing up in a mid-life crisis and I think I've grown a couple of years today!

I must dig out the one about the Captain on top of the haystack, very frightening at the time, but funny afterwards. Bloomin' horse...

Just to say they liked last nights post as well !!

DD2 has a friend here today that is absolutely horse mad and I have just overheard DD2 re telling the Captain and the Underpants story to her !

I will write up the haystack tale for them later this evening and put it on the blog after the man pet has left. He's due any minute now with a takeaway. I've let him choose, I'm feeling lazy....

Have plans for a more serious blog entry tomorrow, will explain later!

Won't be back until later and a few glasses of wine [I hope]

Great that you've made a (life changing?) decision and you sound so much happier. I am sure it will work out well for you! I have been self-employed for almost all my (long ...) working life, and although it can be nerve-wracking it is also definitely the most satisfying way to work. I think of it as putting together a sort of portfolio - or patchwork - of various jobs which fit together: like a jigsaw puzzle on a good week. I try to blend jobs which are physical with those that are more mental/computer based, so as to have some sort of balance. You sound very organised, which is important, so you can keep tabs on all your time, earnings etc.
Anyway, enough, I wish you well in your new venture(s), and look forward to reading about your progress. Best wishes, the cake.
PS You wondered about what sort of cake I am ... keeping horses and trying to earn a living wage as described above, I am obviously a fruitcake! xx

Love the idea of a horsey book for kids. DD1 has lots but most are irritating drivel. The worst of the lot are by Jordan of generous cleavage fame. You've nothing to loose by writing an E-book and you're not exactly short of time at the mo.

The childrens E-book market is dire. Why not try a couple of short stories aimed at 6-8 year olds. You already have lots of material to choose from. Sucker them in with a freebie and then link to the next installement. You'd be amazed how many kids have Kindles and an Amazon allowance. They also have the attention span of gnats so 1000 words in bold type would be more than enough.

You may not have noticed but I didn't do anything last night  Apart from demolish a bottle of wine, watch some television and listen to music with man pet.

The takeaway was interesting. He decided that as I was so into money saving, he'd give it a go, so decided against the takeaway....

The result: He went to the supermarket, unattended.

For me: he got tarka dahl, spring rolls and chips  I am grateful he's noticed I'm a vegetarian.

For himself he got: sliced ham, bombay potatoes, bacon quiche, cooked sausage and.........one tomato.

In case you're wondering, the wine any connoisseur would choose to go with the heady mix of food was a Pinot Grigio:T

How could I not have known? Of course you're a fruitcake!:T You're here, that's proof enough!

    Horses? details please!

I like the idea of patchwork working, I hope I get something in to get it started but I'm off shortly to give my first idea a go. I'll be posting about that later. There is also the small matter of research into just about everything!

    Thanks Moo!

The idea of childrens' books is building. I know nothing about the childrens market, I need to do some research and quickly. I know an illustrator who may be able to help.

My poor brain is reeling, now I've decided to go down this route! Not helped by the wine last night either!
