Cheaper international calls from Spain

A new company is offering cheaper international calls and texts from Spain similar in concept to the Mobileworld network over here. Lebara SIM packs work in any unlocked phone and cost 10E from independent type mobile shops. They have 5E credit with another 5E added if you register details. Uk fixed is 5.6 cents pm and Uk mobiles 20 cents pm. All calls international calls have a 30 cents connection charge.

I found it a really cheap option and binned my SIM at the end of my stay. I'll just get another next time I'm there.

The connection fee looks a bit high, and maybe Vodafone ES 60 for 1 minutes option is also worth looking at, used with a callng card

Almost exact tariff as op offered by https://www.happymovil.es which is available from 'the phone house' a carphone warehouse company.

I would say that these sims are ok for short/one-off visits because like most spanish sims they seem to expire/disconnect from 6-9 months of last top-up

The vodafone sims are more expensive to buy but they are valid for 9 months without topping up and then 3 month further grace period before disconnection. They are therefore better for those who travel approx once a year or more to spain, and as pointed out by redux cheap calling back to uk if used with 60 for 1 minute option and calling card
