How long for NUC from Vodafone?
Hi,
Can anyone who has requested a NUC from Vodafone for an old PAYG phone recall how long it took to come through?
I requested mine 1 week ago. It's for one of their own branded phones so expected they'd be able to come up with the code fairly quickly...
Thanks

How long does it take to unlock my phone from the Vodafone network? Many codes are sent within 24 hours but some take a few days and a few may take up to 2 weeks to obtain.
Pay as you go
If the IMEI number is kept on our systems we can give you the Network Unlock Code straight away. If we don't hold the details there is a timescale of 72 hours to retrieve the code from the mobile phone manufacturer. The main exception to this is Samsung, who have a timescale of up to 10 days.
Pay monthly
If the unlock code is held in our systems, you will receive the unlock code and instructions by email within 24 hours. If the unlock code is not held by us, you will get an email confirming your request has been received and that the turnaround time is 48 hours for all makes except Samsung which is 7-10 working days.0 -
After providing the IMEI printed on the phone the first time and hearing nothing from them I called back and gave the number shown on the phone after dialling *#06# which had 2 more digits at the end - heard nothing again.
I've just been on the live chat with a chap who told me both those numbers were incorrect so the requests were cancelled. I ended up giving him the number printed on the phone again and he said it was now the right one and he'll request the code again!

The time it takes to receive the NUC depends on the phone make & model (some have to be obtained directly from manufacturer and they will set the timescale for Vodafone). Most are around 3-5 working days.
If you received a 6 digit reference number when you put forward the NUC request, you can ring them quoting this, and they will be able to check on the status of the NUC, providing the code directly to you if available at the time. I'd say if you haven't received an email containing the code after a few days, the chances are that your email address has been noted incorrectly and it hasn't reached you, but that the unlocking details will be available on their systems for you to query.
Sadly what you have described is all too common, there isn't a facility to notify the person you spoke to, that the request has been cancelled/incorrect IMEI provided etc. It's left to the customer to chase it up if they don't hear anything, which is a bit inconvenient as I'm sure you now knowhope you get this sorted
