Problem with Bush Freesat HD Box

Hello,

I recently bought Bush Freesat HD BOX and installation went smooth but picture keeps cutting on every HD channel. If its not cutting (going blank after a minute of HD channel running), then voice goes(mute). When the picture goes blank, then remote of the box also stops working and i need to restart the box or wait for picture to come up, i does come back sometime after a minute but again goes blank.

All the other Channels (Non-HD) seems to be working fine most of the time. even they go off sometime (one in a day).

I actually bought this Box just to watch HD channels but if i 'll keep getting this problem, their is no point keeping this.

Signal strength is 100% as per Box and software version is 2.0.2

Did anyone had a same problem? Can someone please suggest if its a HD Box problem or Dish or something?

Thanks in advance
Jay

If the SD channels are fine, it's not the dish, LNB or cabling.

  • Are you connected up using HD leads? just a thought.

Do you mean HDMI cables? Have you tried another HDMI port?

I don't think your problem is a Freesat one, I think it is your connection (and I suspect HDMI cable)

For future reference there are many dedicated sites for Freesat problems, DigitalSpy, Alsat and Geronimosden being among the most popular

So Scotsbob, Are you suggesting that i should try with new HDMI cable?

Firstly I would ensure that the lead is securely in it's slots and the cable is not getting pulled at an angle.

Next, if my TV had more than one HDMI slot I would connect to another one to see if the slot was faulty.

You say that the picture cuts out on both SD and HD. Can you give the box to someone else to try with their TV and aerial feed? That would let you identify if the receiver was at fault.

Their are two slots in my TV and i have tried both of them and problem persist. Moreover SD channels works OK (can live with it), its just HD channels that jams the box.

Anyway i'll try with some different HDMI cables tomorrow and see if things improve.

    Thanks

Signal - when you do the test are you on one of the jumping channels - signal strength can be different on different channels.
But I think more likely is cabling. As you say, try different cables, and if you can try a different TV (anyone that has Sky will do!).
Before doing that perhaps try setting the Bush to, for example, 720p output instead of 1080i for example. And if that doesn't work, try connecting it to the TV via SCART instead of HDMI - this will help isolate the problem better. What is the make and model of the TV and have you used the HDMI on it before?

I tried different HDMI cable and problem is same, it works for SD channels but HD channel wont work for more than 5 min max.

I have tried that too, thats didn't help. If i use SCART cable, HD channel wont work anyway and box is same as SD Box.

TV is Samsumg 32", HD Ready and i have never used HDMI Cable on my TV before.

Or can it be that the box is bought on Ebay (it was New) and i have read that Bush Boxes aren't good anyway. The problem i am talking about is quite common in bush boxes and is on every blog.
