Sky TV call out charge £65 ?
Comments

Last week I bought a new TV and I can't get it to work with the Sky box - it just says there is no signal. I phoned up Sky who said it would be £65 to send an engineer out. I grumbled a bit and told them that as I was paying for a service I could no longer receive, I might as well cancel it and get a Freeview box. Hey presto, free engineer's visit and upgraded to Sky+ HD for no extra cost!0

Shortly after a phone call saying my Sky + box was out of warranty and I needed to pay a monthly fee of £8.95 to keep it covered (which I refused), hey presto the Sky + record/pause/planner options have now failed. I called Sky who quoted £65 for a call out, even though I told them I knew of other people in our area with the same problem. I threatened to cancel my £65 a month subscription, but they called my bluff. Anyone else had similar experiences? I'm moving house soon, so I may use that as an opportunity to haggle or switch to Virgin Media.
Re the bold, this will not have been Sky who rang you, so many companies get your details from somewhere and they all end up contacting you, just so you know.
If Sky just charge you £65 for a callout and this company want to charge you over £100 then alarm bells should ring.
good luck.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
