Nokia Lumia 710

anyone looking for a new smartphone may find this useful, vodafone have got the new Nokai Lumia 710 (windows phone) for £160 - its usually over £300, on PAYG, you can get them to unlock it for a hefty £20 and it takes 48 working hours but even with this added on its still a great saving. I got one in the liverpool, church st store but im sure there are others about, i will be using mine with a giffgaff sim (£10 get me 250 mins, unlimited text and internet and i purchase a new goodybag every month so not tied in to heavy 24month contracts)

Thanks for the heads up. :T I might buy this phone today! I just read its review on Wired a couple of days ago. The only thing I doubt is the lack of memory expansion available on this phone, I think it's just the 8GB.

I am trapped on a 2 year iphone contract but forced to use my old Nokia because signal was so poor on the iphone with Three.

i hope you find one! im disappointed with vodafone though, the sim seemed to be taking ages to register so i kept going back to the liverpool experience shop and they poo-poo'd it saying it could take up to 24 hours which was infuriating but i thought unavoidable, 24 hours later vodafone customer services said "load of rubbish - it takes a couple of hours so sim must be faulty" - 45 miles later and 2 vodafone shops (no one had the same microsim) im steaming at the ears and vowing never to use them again once my phone is unlocked on tuesday, so beware! i should have insisted they check the siim in the liverpool shop but being a technophobe and not wishing to challenge their "superior knowledge" i didnt!!

There's a thread for unlocking Nokia mobile phones on the mobile phones board, might be worth checking if anyone knows the code for unlocking this, if at all possible that is.

This was also mentioned on HotUKDeals and the person who posted this offer says the phone they purchased was SIM unlocked already. See here.

Also, if you have a Vodafone PAYG number or contract number you won't need to get the top up apparently.

Appears this offer may be in-store only at Vodafone stores.
