You do not give any units for your consumption, £ or Kwh?

For example my annual usage with gas central heating in a small property is.

Gas 9000 Kwh per annum, Electricity 2000 Kwh per annum.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • thanks penrhyn! editted it now..... silly me

You need to quote your annual consumption in kWh-the figures are on your annual statement. £'s don't tell us anything.
Also what system you have -given your spend, we assume gas CH and hot water?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Thanks macman

    Electricity 4,691 kWh
    Gas 29,675 kWh

Gas combi boiler for Central heating and hot water, the boiler is 3 years old.

Gulp! Your electricity consumption is a little higher than than the average, but not really an issue.
However your gas consumption is off the scale-about twice what would be expected for a 3 b/r property (around 16,500kWh pa)! And given that you have a modern condensing boiler, even more so.
Where is it all going? What is your insulation like (loft, cavity walls, double glazing?) New property or old? How many hours do you run the heating, and at what temp?

My 2011 usage for a 4 bed detached house, fairly well insulated with old (20+ years) gas boiler, central heating and hot water tank was:
    Electric: 3446kWh
    Gas: 18,828kWh

So, as macman says, your gas usage is very high. Bet there's room for improvement there!

22 degrees!! Turn it down to 20 and wear a jumper.

Why not cut down the running time in the evening as well. Turn it off an hour before you go to bed.
