    Thank you everyone.

The house feels so strange without her and I am struggling. I have 2 more danes here and while the old guy seems nonplussed (12 year old rescue) the youngster (3) is forlorn and clingy, she has lived with us and Magic since she was 8 weeks old and Magic was the pack leader.

I know she will come through it but it is so sad to see. She knows she isn't coming back but she looks lost.

We are going to scatter her ashes in a couple of weeks time, we will take them and her sister (bit too long a walk for the old fella) to her favourite walking spot and scatter her, it will be the last walk they take together.

She had 7 weeks after diagnosis which she would not have had if we didn't get her treated and we do not regret it for a moment. She spent her last Christmas with us being spoilt rotten and everyone who knew her got to say goodbye over the last few weeks.

In the last few days she had a GI bleed that we simply couldn't stop, we tried all the meds etc that were available, I was not willing to put her through hospitalisation and a blood transfusion simply to gain a few more days/weeks as she probably wouldn't have made it through anyway and she would have been confined to a small pen at the vets and we wanted her to be at home in peace.

Running free and sleeping soundly, forever young. RIP my Princess, Mummy and Daddy miss you terribly. xx

Magics ashes have just been returned to me. I have never had experience of an animal cremation as all my previous pets have been buried at home but of course this isn't practical with a Great Dane.
The man and lady who came to collect her on Friday were incredible, as professional and respectful as undertakers (as I guess they are for our pets) giving me as much time as I needed and treating her as gently and kindly as a new born child.

The same man returned her ashes to me today, again he was amazing and I felt comforted that she has been treated properly while away from us.
There is a little card with her ashes that has some flower seeds in and it says A Faithful Friend, Never Forgotten.

I will plant them when I feel the time is right.
