Instead of adding !!!! and ?!?! why not just clarify your post?
You state :
i only ask as my partner will be made redundant in 6 months and is currently on 23k he has been offered a job for 18k
then state :
seriously =[...now Im unsure whether he can accept the offer =\
Its not unreasonable to assume you mean the 18K job offer. And therefore the comment of "would he rather be unemployed" is a fair question.

do u have a point?!?...
my posts have made it perfectly clear he IS employed and has been offered a lower rate job that i am unsure will be viable for my family!!
nowhere does it say he will become unemployed turning down the job offer !!!
it has been assumed incorrectly!!!...as will always happen when people jump to conclusions without all the facts!!!!!0 -
I've got this situation .... was on an income of 9K but am now on 7K. If I change my end of year award now I'll be paid too much, but if I leave it to 6th April, then I won't get the extra money.
My plan is to either - ring up on 3rd April and tell them I want my income now based on 7K so it will kick in before the new tax year and I won't get an overpayment, or end my claim and restart it based on the new figure!
It's disgusting that we are trying to keep in work and yet now we have to wait a full year before we can change it.0 -

To be fair, you said he was being made redundant in 6 months... so yes, he would be employed for 6 months, and then be unemployed!0 -
i agree they're making it very complicated and unfair...if i didn't need the money i wouldnt bother claimimg ...0

I could be wrong but what I think the OP is trying to say is that her partner is being made redundant in 6 months but has been offered a job before the 6 month redundancy so will be starting a new job before he gets made redundant.
I hope that makes sense - I'm not very good at explaining things!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -

that's exactly what i said.. but to ask if my partner would rather be unemployed was cheeky and assuming... no body wants to be unemployed... but taking a job that wont pay all the bills every month just isn't viable so we will have to hold out and hope something better comes along ...0 -

exactly thankyou0 -
but anyway, the more important thing is the disgusting way that poorer families who are trying to stay in work, even on less money, are being treated by this "disregard"0

i agree with that.. if they are trying to get people off benefits why are they making it so hard work to be able work and live...0

I've just had another look at my award notice and it says... "from 6 April 2012" your payments will be based on income of......"
I think I'm going to write them a letter telling them that my payments from 5th April 2012 should be based on an income of £x and I am advising them of this before the 6th April deadline to ensure that the change can be made before the new rules come in.
Can but see what happens!0
