Daughter 1 has a 10/month Samsung Galaxy on Tesco, 100 minutes/unlimited txts/500MB.
Daughter 2 has a 15/month Blackberry Curve on Tesco, 250 minutes/unlimited txts/500MB.
Neither exceeds their monthly allowance, never ever.
Here's my Q.
With a birthdya looming, if I buy D1 an unlocked PAYG Blackberry Curve (cos she likes her sister's..), would the SIM from the Galaxy Tesco deal work without clocking up excessive charges? Guess the main worry is the BBM thing - thoughts?
I then get the Galaxy, a phone's a phone to me.

http://phone-shop.tesco.com/tesco-mobile/help-and-support/blackberry.aspxWill my existing SIM work with my BlackBerry?
Yes it will. However, you'll have to make sure you are on the correct tariff or have the rights bundles.- Pay monthly: you need to be on a BlackBerry tariff. You can switch your tariff by calling the Customer Services Team on 4455 from your Tesco Mobile phone.
- Pay as you go: you'll have to add the the BlackBerry service bundle. You can add the service bundle online by logging into your My Tesco Mobile account or you can call the bundles line on 2709 from your Tesco Mobile phone.

Tesco Mobile offer Blackberry sim only on rolling monthly contracts

How weird OP!! I've just done EXACTLY that thing this week for my daughter.
She is with o2 and had the Galaxy s which she had grown to loathe. I was paying around £40 month for the contract, we had used 18 of the 24 months.
I bought a PAYG BB Curve for £140 and we put her contract Sim in it. The actual phone worked but the Blackberry features didn't (like messenger and, facebook - cue horrific wails of frustration because God forbid we can't miss the random details of everyone elses progress reports / status updates for a couple of hours...).
I spoke to a LOVELY lady at O2 who informed me you need to be on a tarrif with specific Blackberry bolt-ons. I was alarmed because I thought I couldn't change the contract part way in and certainly didn't want to start a NEW contract whilst still paying for the old one.
Well, she had no problem changing the tarrif for me, looked at my daughters usage, adapted the calls, texts and data usage in line with what she's been using this past 18 months and bolted on the Blackberry bits. She then told me that my "new" monthly cost would only be £31!!! I couldn't quite believe it!
So daughter has exactly what she wants and I am paying less for it.0 -
nonnatus, what was the monthly allowance you where getting for £40? For the same phone I pay £22.50 for 600 min 325 txts and 500Mb data0

why not go payg with tesco mobile and pay £5 month for bb bolt on? if you top up £10 a month on the triple credit tarrif you will get £20 worth of free calls and text. the bb bolt on includes 1gb of internet so you should never go over0
