But at least he's not claiming to be dyslexic:rotfl:

In my book genuine dyslexics are let off, but everyone else should make a reasonable effort to write with good spelling and grammar, in paragraphs. And no, I don't mean perfect spelling and grammar either, just that people should make a reasonable effort.

Having gone to a school you hated, or having been a bolshy kid who didn't get on with the English teacher is not an excuse.

I have installed a browser plug-in to check my spelling, so I can see where my typos are before pressing send. It's not a difficult thing to do, and should be considered common courtesy for any bad speller.

Mark Twain saw this coming a hundred years ago.

A Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling:

For example, in Year 1 that useless letter ''c'' would be dropped to be replased either by ''k'' or ''s'', and likewise ''x'' would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which ''c'' would be retained would be the ''ch'' formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform ''w'' spelling, so that ''which'' and ''one'' would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish ''y'' replasing it with ''i'' and Iear 4 might fiks the ''g/j'' anomali wonse and for all. Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez ''c'', ''y'' and ''x'' -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais ''ch'', ''sh'', and ''th'' rispektivli. Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in iusxrewawt xe Ingliy-spiking werld.

There's a more recent one which takes the form of a spoof EU directive that states that English will be adopted as the standard EU language but the spelling will be gradually altered, similar to the above.

It ends up looking very much like German and if you read the end result using current pronunciation tools it sounds as if you're speaking with a very heavy German accent.

I have found that spell check has helped me with my spelling a great deal and I have been able to overcome my dyslexia. Unfortunately when the wrong word is applied but it's still a correct spelling the spell check will miss it - hence the now infamous "Nice seeing you toady".
Most of my many typo's are actually just me trying to type too fast and not being very good at typing. Afterwards if I see a typo I will correct it.
Does it really matter? In the big scheme of things probably not but Lose and loose really catch my attention - I have mental images of someone setting their wallet free and it running off like a dog when they tell me they are going to loose a lot of money.
Probably only a few posters here really do have dyslexia but we should invent a word for people who have chronic text speak and feel unable to communicate without using it. Texlexia?

Why? Were they responsible for the grammatical error? :D

(It should read: "Grandchildren are great, I should have had them first".)

If you have a 'oo' you need to tighten your belt, but if you have a single 'o' you need to find it!
