Nokia 6280 battery

Options
I have a Nokia 6280 on 3 network. Last November it failed and was replaced.
Now the battery is playing up, the phone shutting down saying 'Battery Empty' when I try to make a call. When I turn it back on it shows full, then shuts down again when a call is re-attempted.

My 12 month contract expires on March 9. Do I complain and get it sorted, or just live with it and then go elsewhere? I have given notice of termination to 3, which makes me think they will not be interested in the problem despite the handset having another years guarantee left (it came with a 2 year warranty). I had been hoping they would offer me a cheap deal to keep the same handset,in which case I would push for a replacement, but I have heard nothing from them.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

  • When your contract is up the phone is yours to keep so I would get it replaced/repaired by 3 as its under warranty, as for getting a cheaper deal, what sort of deal are you on now ? There are plenty of offers about which give cash back and free handset so I will have a look for you if you tell me what you are on now and what you pay ? If you get a free phone on a new contract and would like to keep your old one then you can always sell it and that way your new contract will be virtually paid for.

Sounds similar to my phone probs plus mine intermittently turns off. Little known fact is that Nokia warranty their phones for 25 months. So either take it to your nearest nokia repair centre who will software update first and then if that does not solve problem will send it off to nokia.

Thats what i have done anyway and my phone is 13 months old.

Currently average £15 per month, its a complicated contract with cash back etc. Looking for a similar deal, (or cheaper!), for what I get now, which is 500 mins and 100 texts a month. Prefer 12 month contract.
  • Go to this link for deals for a 12 month free contract (Via Cashback)

I had a problem with the phone, which affected the battery. Sent the phone back (6280) and they blamed it on the battery, which is not covered by waranty, so they said! So we are stuck, it was impossible arguing the case to a customer service rep in the call centre.

Did you try buying a cheap battery from Ebay?
