I may be wrong about the Littlewoods/Next connection.
I'm sure I read something on the web that made me think they were part of the same group.

Someone senior at Littlewoods is ex-Next. That's about as close as it gets.
  • I had a letter sent to my address ( same surname different initial and first name). I phoned up to tell them they had wrong address as this person lived in number z and I was number x ( we both had accounts as I used to see her getting loads of stuff delivered). I thought I was being helpful but it bit me big time......they transferred the debt into my account number ( still using the other persons name). After nearly 2 years back and forward to shop direct ( with help from CAG) they finally eventually said they wouldn't chase me for repayment! ( I got printouts of the goods ordered.......clothes that were 3-4 sizes too big for me (her size), double sets of clothes ( she has twins)etc etc. I am STILL getting phone calls from debt recovery agents looking for someone with HER name ( despite telling them repeatedly that nobody of that name lives there!). I would love to be able to sue them for the years of hassle I have had. All this despite me NEVER buying anything on credit and paying for each order at the time of order ( you still have an 'account' even though you don't owe a penny!. Seven years of absolute hassle just because I phoned to tell them they had the wrong address and was stupid enough to tell them my name and address when they asked me!:mad:
:rotfl:If it weren't for stress I'd have no energy at all. First rule of acting: Whatever happens, look as if it were intended.;)
Don't follow in my footsteps, I walk into walls:smileyhea When in doubt .............mumble.
I may look busy, but I'm just confused.:T I smile because i have no idea what's going on.:rotfl:

Just received a second invoice from Next despite having already phoned them twice to explain the fraudulent account.
This time the letter came with a f*kin Christmas card!
Are they taking the p*ss or what?

I can still log on to my fraudulent account using just my customer number and date of birth. Are these people totally stupid or what?

Can I get them under the data protection act for continuing to hold my name and address details?
  • I would give this a SCAM RATING of: Low

    Littlewoods generally are ok
  • A fraudulent account was opened in my name last January. This was dealt with in February and I was assured this account would be closed.

Today I checked my credit rating through Equifax and discovered an entry for Shop Direct (Littlewoods). Not believing it could still be a live account I tried the fraudulent account number and got through to customer services. (She was unable to pass me to their fraud department or her manager as they had all gone home for the day).

Question #1 - how do you persuade this retailer to shut down a fraudulent account.

Question #2 - I have no interest in dealing with Littlewoods or any company associated with them. Is there any way I can prevent them from using my details to open accounts going forward?
