seen it with the wave machine on through the window next to Shark reef.

    very impressive

. if the pool was high on my list of wants would definatly choose Mandalay Bay , The Hotel at Mandalay bay and don,t forget The Four Seasons is also built into main hotel

they are apparently very dilligent on checking that only guests get to sample the delights of the pool.

I just find it very strange how you could reccomend a hotel having never stayed in it.

it,s no secret what the upmarket and most expensive hotels are in Vegas is it now ???

I just find it very strange how you could reccomend a hotel having never stayed in it.

i know a world class pool when i see one and every guide book says the exact same. I.E Mandalay bay has best pool. all i was saying is, if a pool is high on your list of things it might very well be the thing that swings your choice between other mentioned hotels

other than that tip i don,t recall recommending anything :confused: ??? just giving OP ideas just as they requested. hence the use of the word "consider"

i,ll let tripadvisor do the recommending thanks

P.S is it your time of the month WDYD ??? you seem to be irrated with every other post anyone dare make on Vegas ect

chill out and let people post their views and share their experiances. sorry but i,m NOT doing a Waynes world "Were not worthy" to you and your extensive experinance of the place.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Am I missing the point here or has the OP not asked for top end hotels? PARIS? ALLADIN? nice hotels but crap compared to the big four on the strip of Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian and Mandalay Bay. Haven't stayed in the Wynn yet but given the choice we would go for the concierge level acommodation of Venetian before Mandalay Bay and Bellagio.

mmmmmm Crap compared to the top four ? I dont think so, but I do understand where you are coming from. If I had the budget the OP is talking about it would definitely be Wynn, Bellagio, Venetion (if you want to be centre strip) or The Hotel at Mandalay bay for me

Yes I have stayed at Mandalay Bay and the pool is the best !

Expressed badly in that the Paris/Alladin/Mirage/Caesars/TI/MGM are all good, just not in the same league as the top 4. Value for money we would go with TI every time, luxury elsewhere. I've never used Wynn so I never ever would dream on commenting on it. While its meant to be fantastic and I like the casino and the water side restaurant having never stayed there I can't comment on it compared to the other top hotels.

Mandalay Bay is superb, only down point for me is its location at the southe end of the strip, but my point was why would somebody who has never stated there recommend it? - might as well just say ...all the travel sites say its top rate so I'll agree with them.

The point to threads like this is to get beyond what the travel guides say, and to get first hand experience. Things like, while Manadalay Bay usually gets #1 for pool recoomendations, Bellagio gets top three!!! How? Near enough impossible to get a free lounger after 11 in the morning, the fountain pools are near enough unusable until mid/late afternoon in the high summer due to being far too cold, but apart from that....

Anyway for the OP, I would also consider going mid market hotel and look at their top level suites as an alternative.
  • We stayed at the Bellagio in the summer for 7 nights at the end of a long touring holiday. We started in San Fran (stayed at the Westin St Francis on Union Square so perfect for shopping).

Anyway, I purposefully did not book a fountain view room but asked to upgrade once there, they put us on the top floor smack bang in front of the fountain. I loved it and so did my husband - very romantic. Floor to ceiling windows, curtains you can open from your bedside cabinet by remote, music that plays along to the fountains. aahhh!

Rooms are not huge compared to the Venetian but it was lovely and the Bathroom was stunning. Large Bath, floor to ceiling glass shower anyway I'm sure you get the picture. Security was excellent as you had to show your key to get on the elevator to rooms and out to the pool.

We felt special and that's what holidays are about.

Just remembered a good point - It is reasonably located as well - in so far as anything is reasonably located in Vegas - it is kind of mid strip but if you walk across the road you can get the monorial to the Stratosphere hop on the bus and this will take you to Freemont Street.

I would also recommend the Cheescake factory for lunch - in San Fancisoco it is located on the roof of Macy's and you can sit outside and look at everyone in Union Square and in Vegas it is in Ceasars - lovely!

We stayed at the Aladdin for a few nights last year and asked for a fountain view room. We were really chuffed to have this view from our room

Beware the Aladdin  , it is currently having extensive refurbishment works to change it into a Hard Rock Hotel.

I have stayed at The Venetian (Venezia), The Bellagio (Fountain View) and The Luxor (Tower). There is a definite big step up from the Luxor to both the Venetian and Ballagio, when you bear in mind that the Luxor is a 'better' hotel than average if you want something special go for :-

    Venetian

    Bellagio

The Hotel at Mandalay Bay - best rooms in Vegas apparently, only downside for me is location.

If your budget is tight go for a medium range hotel, but pay extra for a strip view, worth every penny.

Location wise, anywhere near Paris/Bellagio is best spot in my opinion.

One last thought, you will be so exhausted that as long as your room is clean you will be happy :o

The Aladdin does have work going on to change it to Planet Hollywood but I have stayed during these works and will be doing so again in April for $59 a night which more than compensates, especially as the consruction had no detrimental effect.

I would also disagree that the Luxor is better than average it is getting very old now.

Agree that for location and lots of money then Bellagio and Venetian are hard to beat. I do have 2 rooms reserved at Paris in April for $99 so the deals are out there
  • Las vegas reccomendations are:

Bellagio, Wynn Ceasers Palace or Venetian you wont be dissapointed.
  • Skylofts at MGM Grand beats Wynn, Venetian and any other hotel in Vegas! :D
