Not Iphones with Apps ;)

On a clear day when your nav can see the sky clearly and you are doing a steady constant 70mph indicated on the car's speedometer
  • What does your nav say the speed is?
  • If there is a difference what car is it?

My zafira is within 1 or 2mph.
The classic mini is about 60 for a true 70.
The 80's renault is about 65 for 70.
I've found newer cars with electronic speedos are within a mile or two now on other cars I've driven.

Exactly the same as on the sat nav. I'm beginning to think the two are linked.

On the renault it'll be 2-3MPH below. On the ford Ka it's a lot lower. Ka says one speed the nav will read about 7MPG lower. Ka did have its speedo fixed last year so I'm not convinced of its accuracy. That said, I trust an electronic speedo less when its working out an average speed.

Where can I get one of these sat navs that calculates what your fuel consumption is? :rotfl:

So the Mini and the Renault are both underreading on the car speedo?
Oh dear. Is that a 1980s mini?
