Engine shalled at high speed [Ford Mondeo]

He sounds like an excellent driver to me. I used to have a Ford Mondeo too and can vouch for the quality of the vehicle.
Is the car an "automatic"? If so, it may be your throttle body that needs replacing as the potentiometer may be worn and sending incorrect information to the ECU which causes the engine to stall.
Truth be known, 90mph is nothing these days. According to the owners manual, my car can do at least 160mph and, if it were legal, I would regularly travel at that speed in order to reduce my journey times. I would be able to do journeys in literally less than half the time it takes now! A 4 hour journey would take less than 2 hours. It would be wonderful.
In conclusion, the government should focus on making roads less congested and of better quality so that we can all drive faster, rather than trying to slow us all down to 50mph with endless roadwords and permanent speed restrictions. After all, we're busy people and have better things to do in this day and age than trundle along behind Granny Gherkin doing 45mph in the slow lane all the way from Plymouth to Edinburgh.0 -
