Help with Orange Miami phone

My son has an Orange Miami which has been unlocked so he can use a Tesco sim in it.

The problem is if the battery runs out it deletes all of his contacts and replaces them with the junk contacts from Tesco (such as the Tesco insurance line, Clubcard line etc).

This came to light when he had an accident on Friday evening and the ambulance crew couldn't contact us as all his numbers had been deleted!!

Any ideas or I'm going to have to buy a new phone.

Thanks.

Have tried storing the numbers on the phone and on the sim - makes no difference - everytime the phone has no power it replaces his contacts with the Tesco ones.

    No - not sim swapping.

Does your son not have the numbers stored in conjunction with his google account?

I'm assuming that he sync's his phone with a Google account? (it's a feature of all Android devices), so basically whenever you add or change any contacts, they automatically upload/download to and from Google and the device. That means that as long as he has a data connection, he'll never be without numbers etc.

    Nope - it's a £30 phone - doesn't sync with anything!!

Think I've managed to get it so that his numbers stay on the phone by adding them to a 'family' folder - now I just need to find a way to stop the Tesco numbers from reappearing!

Have tried putting his numbers on both phone and sim - seems to make no difference.

The Tesco numbers keep reappearing on the sim.

Am trying to find a way so that the phone only shows the contacts saved on the phone and hides the ones on the sim but no luck so far.
