So me contacting Egypt at an expensive phone call isnt going to change that the retailer is saying we've been on the trip and we havent. I thought that was the point in using your card so your covered.

Theyre saying we went on the trip, I know we didnt so why have natwest took the merchants side ? No correspondance has been recieved since Aug so debiting my account without my knowledge, taking me over my overdraft and leaving me with no money ar all until I get paid is acceptable then ? Why isnt my money put back & the retailer made to contact me direct ?

But the bank already got involved in July when i had to fill out a chargeback form so shouldnt they have asked me to do that first ? They didnt so they cant now surely its illegal to debit someone 6 months later without informing them. Natwest never asked me to contact the retailer in July .

You have followed the wrong process you will need to contact the retailer.

The bank will side with the retailer as the retailer have probably contacted the bank explaining you have made no efforts to contact them regarding the issue.

You will have to dispute it with the ratailer via email or what ever means maybe contact them via the website or what ever you did to book the trip.

I think there is clause which says should the charge back be done incorrectly they will debit your account again.

Sorry, i havent followed any wrong process...Natwest have...Yes the retailers saying theres nothing wrong as theyre saying we went on the trip and they issued the reciept after the trip.
Tell me, have you ever been anywhere and paid after the trip is over ?? I certainly havent. The retailer has fraudulently taken our money by promising us a service they never delivered therefore breaking the contract. I apologise if i have been misled by Natwest in fact you work for them I see and say they will of taken the retailers side , Natwest told me yesterday they dont arbitrate which is why the file has been passed on . Also not once have Natwest asked me to contact the retailer, Natwest initiated the chargeback.

I'm completely in favour of scrupulously following "process", but as posted, Natwest for 6 months did not quibble with the the OP's process.

Maybe the OP should take it the FOS?

My understanding is when a charge back is administered the question is asked have you contacted the retailer.

As it would have taken time to communicate between the UK and Egypt that may have been quiet a delay.

Either follow the banks complaint procedure or contact the FOS then report back and let us all know how you get on.

That is a fair point and for the OP to clarify.
