  • So I've received all the paperwork through from the insurers this morning, I must say I'm impressed I spoke to them yesterday and they said it would arrive today and it has.
I went to the local jewellers and picked up a replacement valuation, he has also said he's happy to confirm with the insurers that he has seen the ring for a clean and polish.
I emailed a couple of photos of me wearing the ring over to the insurers and they phoned to say they had received them and were happy with them.

It all seems to be going ok, fingers crossed.

The only thing I'm not sure on is if they are happy to settle I would rather have vouchers than let them have a replacement made, I would want to physically see and try on different rings and be sure of what I was getting.
I hope vouchers will be an option.

I think, as long as they are happy with everything, they will be happy to settle with vouchers as it gets the claim closed and over with.

They normally have a deal with a jewellery company and pay less than face value for the vouchers, there is always a risk with getting something made up for you that you'll then hate it.

But there's certainly no harm in asking when they get to discussing settlement options.
