What would YOU do here, advice needed from experts.

I sold a cotton machine washable blouse, the buyer said she was disappointed as it had an oi lmark on,and she hoped I was going to do something about it.I didn't think it had,but I couldn't be sure, and was happy to take responsibility,as I like to be fair.I asked her to send it back and said I would send the postage money to her first,i did.

She suggested if I wanted to I could give her the money for drycleaning,I declined this..and took the option I originally stated.
Received it this morning,no oil mark, what to do now?

As Halibut - there's nothing you really should do. If the buyer doesn't want it, they don't want it. No point in forcing them to keep it.

It's sad but true - clothing auctions/sales on eBay, even from private sellers, really need to give a change of mind return policy - that way buyers don't have to make things up or threaten damage and disputes over the item that doesn't fit them. Swimming against the tide doesn't work.

  • Refund in full.

Get someone else to check for the stain.

    I don't follow?

You have the item back, so you must refund in full.

Then, before you relist (if that is what you are going to do) then perhaps get someone else to give it the once over.

Oh, just refund and move on, It isn't worth the energy and stress to do any other.

Obviously whoever bought it changed their mind about how much they wanted to spend AFTER they had got it. Either that, or they think it is fun to annoy sellers by trying to get a discount after purchase.

Really, just put it down to experience, there will always be someone out there trying to scam, Refund and forget it.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

I gave them the return postage because I was taking their word there was a mark on the blouse. Its clear they were just trying to get some more money off.It was in perfect condition, they were the only bidder, its a designer item,I am debating knocking off the amount of money I originally refunded for postage, can I do this?

It depends. How did you give them the first reimbursement?
