Its so cheap I don't know why more people don't do it. You don't even ever have to worry about the shortish battery life because you can leave it plugged in.
I have just persuaded my Dad to have one, the £12 cashback from https://www.linemypocket.co.uk makes this a superb deal0 -
This does seem a very good deal and if I get my £22 back that will make it a very good deal indeed.
I am sure that my next question has been asked before but I can't find an instance of it :-
Does anyone know if the E616 can be unlocked for use with another network? If so can this be done for free?
Thanks to the OP for this.Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -

The phone can be unlocked but I believe that you need a cable in order to do it, in which case it won't be free.
here is an example (but i'm sure it can be found cheaper) http://www.unlockthatmobile.com/nec2.html0 -
Is the cable that is required to unlock it different from the usb one that comes with the handset ?
Sorry to vary from the topic but I am sure others who take up this offer (or those considering taking up this offer) may be interested to know if they can easily unlock the handset for free.
The other thing that is quite good is that the handset comes with two batteries a slim one and a chunky one that sticks out the back a bit. I think either of these can be charged on the charger supplied without having to have it in the handset so one can be on charge while the other is in use.Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -

If you have a 02 online sim card (ie. 300 free txts) you have to phone a 50p/minute number to transfer your number.
I tried on https://www.saynoto0870.com but any number I tried I was told that I had to phone this premium rate number!0 -
This offer is on the "3" network - it was featured on BBC watchdog this week for having bad reception.

What happens if you don't make enough calls to take you over your free call minutes? Would you then not receive a bill and find yourself unable to make the redemption(s)?0

Not entirely true - the report was more about problems with a particular handset - not this one! The reception on 3 is now *almost* as good as any other network - especially in cities.
3 was recently named network of the year by What Cellphone magazine so i think the watchdog cases were isolated. They were much more critical of O2 in a recent report: http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/reports/consumer/consumer_20050118_2.shtml0
